Just a quick background on this. This is going to be a little side project, so it won't be updated as much as my Mets franchise. The requirements for the first 25 rounds were to pick players age 35+. After that the minor leaguers are as old as I could get until I ran out of real players to plug in so I auto-drafted after that point. I'll post the roster in a few.

April 3rd: Boston Red Sox (0-0) @ Texas Rangers (0-0)

Johnson Struggles in Debut, Rangers Win 6-2

Texas (AP)- The Old-Timer Squad got off to a rough start to 2006 as they fell to Rangers' ace Chris Carpenter. Carpenter gave up 11 hits over 7.1 IP but struckout 12 and gave up just 2 runs, while Octabio Dotel pitched 1.2 innings of hitless ball. Frank Thomas and Lance Berkman provided the bulk of the offense for the Rangers, both homering, Thomas a 3 run homer, and Berkman a slo shot. Freel also chipped in with a 2 RBI triple. Randy Johnson struggled for the Sox throwing 103 pitches in 5 innings, giving up 4 runs on 5 hits, walking 4 and striking out 4. Mike Pizza and Vinny Castilla had the lone runs driven in for the Sox.

          April 4th

          Rangers 6, Red Sox 2

          WP- Zach Duke
          LP- Greg Maddux

It was deja vu in this one as once again the Sox fell to a 6-2 score, and once again thanks to a poor performance by their starting pitcher. Greg Maddux would give up 6 runs on as many hits, walking 4 and King 5 over 6.1 IP. The Sox bullpen would contain the bleeding, but the offense wasn't able to produce. Lance Berkman provided the spark for the Rangers hitting a 2 run homer, while Castro drove in 2 and Lawton and Jenkins 1 each. The lone offense for the Sox was provided in the 8th on a 2 run homer by Damion Easley.

Note: I'm going to be making a few trades to get some older guys out there, and they likely will not be all that realistic as I'm just going for the players, and not worrying about the other teams.

            Trades

Aaron Sele (AAA) for Tom Glavine
Randy Johnson for Ken Griffey Jr.
            Mark Grudielanek for Craig Biggio

This one would have been fun too if you kept it going. I enjoy reading your HQ's
