Deep Ball, Deep Ball, Deep Ball.

Are you noticing a high interception rate ala Madden (not 360 version) Seeing that they use the same engine I was wondering. I've read on some other boards about it. What have you seen? Lots of picks to the house?
My secondary is young and full of rookies, and I play a pretty conservative game offensively, so I haven't seen a ton of picks. I haven't seen one pick for TD yet, although I almost gave one up, but Reggie Bush ran down the defender while he was in the clear.

See he can help you on both sides of the ball. Well that's good to hear.

Opened the season with a 31-7 win over the Bears, in a game that was actually much closer than the score would indicate. It was a 7-0 game at half, the Bears got a few bad breaks and it snowballed on them.

The Bears D, was tough, and for the first half of the game, I could get nothing going on them. A big Reggie Bush punt return put me in scoring position, and Brett Favre hit Bubba Franks on a 7 yd td pass off of a nice bootaction play.

Second half opens, the Bears Mark Bradley fumbles the ball on a short catch and run, and the pack get the ball back inside the Bear 30. Ahman Green comes in and busts a 21 yard td run, and the rout was on.

I really never moved the ball much, but eventually wore the Bears defense down. Reggie Bush debuted with 12 carries for 43 yards and 1 reception for 9 yards. Ahman Green led the team with 45 yards and the aforementioned TD. Najeh Davenport added a 1 yd td run of his own.

Favre had a quiet but efficient game, completing 13 of 24 passes for 120 yards with 1 td and 1 int. Joe Jurevicius was the leading reciever with 5 receptions for 61 yards.

Justing Gage did some damage to my rookie CB's, catching 3 passes for 72 yards.. Thomas Jones led Bears rushers with 15 carries for 60 yards and a score. Cedric Benson got some time but finished with 3 carries for 5 yards. Rex Grossman, stunk up the joing completing 10 of 25 passes for 101 yards 0 td's and 2 int's.

Next up the Pack play host to the New Orleans Saints. Aaron Brooks is coming off of a 400 yard passing game. Should be interesting.

I should have taken Bush lmao. Nicely done. My first regular season game was nowhere near as easy against your Bolts...

He's been doing a little bit of everything. It's nice to have Ahman Green also, to spell him, I just need to find more ways to get him integrated in to the passing game.

Good job on your first win. I have not made it to the regular season yet but have won my first 2 pre season games. Looking to get some quality time with this over the weekend. Just wish I would have picked up the PC version and not the xbox so I could match wits with you. Keep the report coming, I am enjoying how others are doing compared to me.

Ouch, I would have cried if I got that close.

Re: The life and times of Coach BK (NFL HC)

Week 2 came and the Saints rolled in to town. The Packers staff was very confident going in to this game, as they felt they had their best week of practice since training camp began.

Right off the bat it looked good for the Pack, as Brett Favre hit Robert Ferguson for a 43 yard gain on the first play from scrimmage. 2 plays later, Reggie Bush scored his first NFL touchdown on a 19 yard scamper.

The Packers then had a series of possesions that lead to 3 chip shot field goals, leading to a 16-0 halftime score. The Saints moved the ball well between the 30's but kept stalling just outside of field goal range. And typical of New Orleans teams of the past, there always seemed to be one crucial play each drive that would kill their momentum, whether it be a penalty, a dropped pass or a QB sack.

The knock on coach BK, coming out of the college ranks was, that he is at times too conservative of a play caller. This appeared to be true in the second half of this game, and it almost cost the Packers the game. Nursing a 16-0 lead the Packers, called conservative run plays almost exclusively, while the Saints were loading up the box daring them to throw. The result? Only 3 second half points from the Packers.

While Green Bay was busy not moving the ball, the Saints offense was starting to get in to gear. Aaron Brooks began to heat up, and eventually found Donte Stallworth on a 15 yard pass to cut the score to 19-7. After a Green Bay 3 and out, the Saints again drove the length of the field, and Deuce McCallister capped off the drive with a 9 yard scoring run, to put the score at 19-14 which is what the final score would be.

Reggie Bush Watch: Reggie carried the ball 20 times for 73 yards and a score. He also caught 1 pass for 19 yards and averaged 22 yards per kick return on 3 returns.

Brett Favre had another nice game, considering he didn't get to put it up much. Favre ended the game 12 of 19 for 233 yards and in INT. Donald Driver led all Packer receivers with 5 receptions covering 84 yards.

The Packers improve to 2-0 and next travel to Detroit to take on the Lions, while the Saints drop to 1-1 and next travel to Atlanta to take on the Falcons.

Wish they had a replay option in this game.
