    My Offensive/Defensive philosophy is Balanced/3-4

    Goals

    - Win 8 games this year.
    - Fire Offensive Line Coach.
    - Fix David Carr

    Coach Hiring

    - I first made sure i fired my offensive line coach..that evil bastard left me with a shell shocked quarterback.

    - I then replaced every positional coach on the defensive side of the ball.

    - I also replaced my offensive coordinator with Gary Kubiak.

      FA Signings

WR Peerless Price 5 year deal
He is going to line up opposite of Andre Johnson. I hope he can play like he did back in Buffalo

TE Teyo Johnson 4 year deal
I need to sign a pass catching TE so i dont have to draft one. Teyo used to play basketball for Stanford, hes young, and athletic. he will be fighting for the starting spot with Bruener.

CB Lenny Walls 4 yr deal
He will be fighting for the second conerback Position with Phillip Buchanon

RG Dan Neil 3 yr deal
Defacto starting RG. He would solidify the Right side. David Carr was crying in happiness when he heard the news.

      ROLB Will Witherspoon 4 yr
Best Pickup of Free Agency. he will start at ROLB.

With the 4th Pick in the NFL Draft...The Houston Texans select...

          A.J. HAWK
          Height: 6-1
          Weight: 247
          40 Speed: 4.73
          Position: Outside Linebacker
          College: Ohio State

          strengths
Possesses great instincts as a linebacker. Everyone has come to know as of late his speed. He's been timed at 4.4 in the 40. He possesses great closing speed and rarely misses a tackle. Exceptional vision and knowledge of the game makes him excellent in pass coverage as well. Has his best games against top competition (ex: Texas, Michigan, Notre Dame) and can rush the passer with great effectiveness. A durable LB who prepares well and never gets hurt.

          Weakness
His height, 6'1, is really the only concern most NFL teams have about A.J., but that didn't seem to hurt him in college, being a first team All-American in his last two seasons as a Buckeye.

          Overall
Hawk should blossom into one of the elite LBs in the NFL in his first 5 years. He should become a perennial Pro Bowler and may even win a few Defensive Player of the Year Awards before it's all said and done. Has as much or more upside as N.C. State DE Mario Williams, who has drawn comparisons to Carolina Panther stud Julius Peppers.

With the 32th Pick in the NFL Draft...The Houston Texans select...

          Kamerion Wimbley
          Height: 6-3
          Weight: 241
          40 Speed: 4.73
          Position: Defensive End
          College: Florida State

          Strengths
He has a great work ethic and great character. He is the kind of kid that you want your kids to have as role models. Combine this with the fact that he is an impressive physical athlete.

          Weaknesses
His size for a DE will cause some to shy away from him.

          Overall
He will be a great pick up for some team, because of his tremendous up side and his ability to play outside linebacker or the rush end position as well as being an option on special teams until he can become a full time starter. His freak athletic ability will be hard for some teams to pass up.

With the 33th Pick in the NFL Draft...The Houston Texans select...

          Brodie Croyle
          Height: 6-3
          Weight: 204
          40 Speed: 4.91
          Position: Quarterback
          College: Alabama

          Strengths
Excellent arm strength. Brodie can make all the throws required to be a successful NFL QB. Very tough despite bad injury luck. Played the entire 2003 season with a seperated shoulder, and half of the year with cracked ribs. When he has decent protection, Brodie will make very good decisions with the football. Good leader.

          Weaknesses
Undersized. Brodie needs to somehow add 15 to 20lbs. to survive in the NFL. Has had some terrible injury luck that could affect his draft status. He blew out a knee his senior year in highschool, and blew out the opposite knee in his redshirt junior year in 2004. Brodie will try to force the ball in places at times, relying on his arm strength a la Brett Favre, instead of finding a better option. Looks to make the big play at times instead of finding the open underneath man.

          Overall
I think Brodie is ranked where he should be in most drafts as the 4th rated QB. If he can put on some weight, he should be successful on the next level. He's been running a pro offense in college, and should be able to adjust quickly to whatever NFL team picks him up.

With the 36th Pick in the NFL Draft...The Houston Texans select...

          Lendale White
          Height: 6-0
          Weight: 237
          40 Speed: 4.60
          Position: Running Back
          College: USC

          Strengths
powerful runner who bruises and wears down the opposing defense. Split carries with reggie bush in college so he should have plenty of gas in his tank. Could easily pan out to be a modern day jerome bettis if he works on his footwork. Always falls forward for the extra yard, his big game in the national championship where he outplayed bush sent his stock to the roof and should capitalize from the exposure. Definitely a 25+ carry a game back.

          Weaknesses
Some concern on whether he can run outside of the tackles or turn the corner for the extra yards. Never been known to be a receiver out of the backfield and will have to be implemented into the right system for him to be effective. Needs to show more explosiveness on his first step and hitting the hole in the NFL.

Overall Definitely hard to bring down in the open field and will take more then one defender. If he picks up his speed and elusiveness he will be very effective as a full time back. Will have a more productive rookie season then his counter part reggie bush.

With the 65th Pick in the NFL Draft...The Houston Texans select...

          Claude Wroten
          Height: 6-2
          Weight: 303
          40 Speed: 5.09
          Position: Defensive Tackle
          College: Louisiana State

          Stengths
Good all-around versatile DT. Plays run and pass rushes well. Takes on doubles. Good first step to penetrate. Makes alot of plays in the backfield. Good work ethic.

          Weaknesses
Could stand to add size and power for next level. Not very experienced. Needs seasoning.

          Overall
Wroten is a solid prospect, especially if your team already has an over-sized lane-plugger for Wroten to line up next to. Would also be a perfect 3-4 end.

Re: **Houston Texans: Reversing the works of Dom Capers**

            Day 2

With the 131th Pick in the NFL Draft...The Houston Texans select...

            Roman Harper
            Height: 6-0
            Weight: 197
            40 Speed: 4.56
            Position: Free Safety
            College: Alabama

            Strengths
Harper is a good athlete with the quick feet and playing speed to make plays all over the field from sideline to sideline. He is a smart player who uses his hands well to jolt a receiver's release, bumps him around in his route well and uses his body well to cut off and shield the receiver. He reads the quarterback's eyes well and can break and get outside quickly to make plays on deep, outside passes. He flashes good aggressiveness coming up quickly in run support and can break down and tackle well in space.

            Weaknesses
While Harper has good enough size for a safety, adding approximately 10-15 pounds would help his NFL durability. More than anything, he needs to come up more aggressively in run support and always fight to get to the ball to make tackles.

With the 170th Pick in the NFL Draft...The Houston Texans select...

            lawrence Vickers

            Height: 6-0
            Weight: 246
            40 Speed: 4.94
            Position: Fullback
            College: Colorado

            Strengths
Powerful and dominate player who makes a presence on the field and is feared by the strongest of linebacks. In colorado, he was a V-back so not only can he make that crucial lead block to spring your running back but he can also carry the ball and is perfect for 3rd and 4th down conversions. Mike Alstott is the only FB who compares and Vickers will be able to adapt to the NFL with ease.

            Weaknesses
He isn't completely a FB because he carried the ball in college so his training should include pass and run blocking. Yet, with his size he'll be able to learn.

            Overall
This FB would be known across the nation if the coach scandles and Matt bernstein weren't in his life. He will make a big impact on any team and be that X factor so many teams need in their gameplan. Between blocking, pounding the ball and receiving out of the backfield, he will make the big plays even in his rookie year. Teams will be glad they drafted this tough individual. He is so versatile that defenses will have to spread their defense in order to account for Lawrence Vickers.

With the 209th Pick in the NFL Draft...The Houston Texans select...

            Jesse Mahelona
            Height: 6-1
            Weight: 310
            40 Speed: 5.15
            Position: Defensive Tackle
            College: Tennessee

            Strengths
Has a motor that never stops running. Aggressive playmaker who gives it his all every play. Double teamed constantly his senior year, his numbers fell a little bit from his junior year. Quick for a DT.

            Weaknesses
Lacks prototypical size, but so did Dwight Freeney...

            Overall
e'll probably go to the 2nd-3rd round due to his 'lack of size', but he has 1st round talent. Having played only two years at the D-1 level (tranferred from community college), he still has room to improve and get even better. He picked up the game very well when starting out his junior year and was a force to be reckoned with in the SEC.

Took a different approach than most people I've seen, but looks like it worked out for you, and you had a great draft!

Good signing with Lenny Walls, I signed him with the Cowboys and made him the Free Safety along side Roy Williams, and he's got 5 picks in 8 games.

I shored up my offensive line in free agency. The texans have a lot of young talent so i blame the past coaches for thei suckiness..

                    Team Signings

                      TRAINING CAMP REPORT

                      QUARTERBACK
David Carr played great in Training camp. He made good decisions and didnt make much mistakes. Brodie Croyle also played solid. His passes are a work of art. He is really accurate. If he improves his decision making in preseason, he could win the starting job.

                      RUNNINGBACK
Domminick Davis played like a man possessed in camp. He was first put on second string but they couldnt tackle him so he was moved to first string. Lendale White played ok. The real suprise in camp was rookie FB Lawrence Vickers. He ran over AJ hawk a couple of times. He is a beast in short yard situations.

                      Widereciever
Jabar Gaffney played like he was Jerry Rice in camp. He caught every thing that was thrown his way. He scored with ease. Peerless "Casper" Price was invisible throughtout training camp. He dropped everything. He is been demoted to fourth string and may be traded before the season starts. Andre Johnson played solid. TE Bruener made some ridiculous catches but he still in a position battle with Teyo johnson.

                      Offensive Line
The offensive line was scare good in camp. The addition of Neal on the Right side was a great addition in the offseason. They looked prepared for the offseason.

                      Defensive Line
The Defensive line played okay. Rookie LE Croten played solid and held his own. LE Babin was a disgrace in drills. He kept getting pancaked and the more i yelled, the more he fell. It was sad.

                      Linebacker
Rookie phenom AJ Hawk played ok.He overpursued sometimes and got an over by Vickers (Vickers is a beast). Wimbley played very solid. Marlon Greenwood played extremely well.he was hitting everything in his vicinity. He may take the starting job from AJ hawk if this continues in preseason.

                      Cornerbacks
Dunta Robinson played like the star he is. No sophomore yr slump fo him. Buchanon showed some promises but got beat constantly got beat by Gaffney.

                      Safeties
Lenny Walls was looked like he will be starting at FS. He seemed to be always around the ball. Solid play from Safeties.

Ouch Tough injury to Carr. Going to be fun seeing Croyle start, but hopefully its not too soon for him.

great read btw, keep it up!
