    Game 1
The season didn't start the way the Rangers would have liked. In the 4th inning, Vladimir Guerrero hit a rocket right off of pitcher Kevin Millwood's leg. We learned later that Millwood is expected to miss at least two months, and had been placed on the 60-day DL. The Rangers struggled to get hits off of Bartolo Colon, and failed to win because of that.

    TEX - 1 4 0
    ANA - 3 12 1

    WP: B. Colon (1-0)
    LP: K. Millwood (0-1)
    SV: F. Rodriguez (1)

    Player of the game: Bartolo Colon - 8 1/3 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 1 BB, 4 SO

--Edinson Volquez was called up to take Millwood's rotation spot

    Game 2

This game was much better than the last for the Rangers, but it ended in the same result. Hank Blalock started Texas off with a 3-run homer in the 4th inning. The Rangers then tied the game in the top of the 6th thanks to back to back home runs from DeRosa and Teixeira. They then went on to give up the lead in the bottom of the inning. Padilla was ejected in the 6th for throwing at Vladimir Guerrero (couldn't help it, he makes me mad).

    TEX - 5 10 0
    ANA - 6 8 0

    WP: K. Gregg (1-0)
    LP: V. Padilla (0-1)
    SV: F. Rodriguez (2)

    Player of the game - Orlando Cabrera 3-4, 3B, 3 RBI, R

    Game 3

The Rangers took the early lead in this one, and Loe pitched 6 great innings before the Angels tied it up, and eventually went on to win it in the 13th inning, completing the sweep.

    TEX - 3 9 0
    ANA - 4 11 1

    WP: K. Gregg (2-0)
    LP: W. Littleton (0-1)

    Player of the game: Vladimir Guerrero 4-5, 3 2B, 2 RBI, BB, 2 R

        Game 1 - 4/8/06

John Koronka did his part by pitching an amazing game, and Mark Teixeira provided the offense the Rangers needed to pull away with their first win of the season.

        TEX - 3 7 1
        SEA - 0 5 0

        WP: J. Koronka (1-0)
        LP: G. Meche (0-1)

        Player of the Game - John Koronka - CG, 5 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 7 K

        Hitting
        Mark Teixeira - 3-5, 2 RBI

        Game 2 - 4/9/06

Felix Hernandez and John Rheinecker had a pitcher duel going through the first five inning, only giving up 5 hits total in that span. Wilkerson broke the tie with a solo shot in the 6th inning, but Johjima responded with a 3-run homer of his own in the bottom of the inning. The Rangers wouldn't score again, and they dropped another one.

        TEX - 1 5 0
        SEA - 5 12 0

        WP: F. Hernandez (1-0)
        LP: J. Rheinecker (0-1)

        Player of the game - Felix Hernandez - 8 2/3 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 0 BB, 3 K

        Game 3 - 4/10/06

Recently called up Edinson Volquez started out his first start of the year with four perfect innings. An error in the 5th caused him to give up two more runs than he should have. The Rangers struggles continue, they are now 1-5.

        TEX - 2 11 1
        SEA - 3 7 0

        WP: J. Moyer (1-1)

          Game 1 - 4/11/06

The game started out great for the Rangers, they lead 5-1 after 4 innings. Too bad for them that the Angels put together a six run 5th inning, and by doing so handed the Rangers a loss at their home opener.

          ANA - 10 16 0
          TEX - 5 8 1

          WP: J. Lackey (1-0)

          Player of the Game - J.C. Romero - 4 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 5 K

          Game 2 - 4/12/06

This game showed exactly what the Rangers expect out of themselves, scoring runs. They combined for 6 home runs, including 2 by both Mark Teixeira and Jerry Hairston.

          ANA - 8 17 0
          TEX - 15 17 0

          WP: K. Loe (1-0)
          LP: K. Escobar (0-1)

Player of the game - Mark Teixeira - 2-5, 2 HR, 5 RBI, BB

          Game 3 - 4/13/06

Ervin Santana couldn't be stopped, enough said. Gary Matthews Jr. also left the game with a pulled hamstring and will be out for 7 days.

          ANA - 4 8 0
          TEX - 2 6 0

          WP: E. Santana (1-1)

            Game 1 - 4/14/06

After going behind early, the Rangers come from behind and win it in the 12th inning. Freddy Guzman also had a good game in his first start of the year for the injured Gary Matthews Jr.

            TOR - 3 12 0
            TEX - 4 11 0

            WP: A. Otsuka (1-0)

            Game 2 - 4/15/06

The Rangers took another early lead, thanks t back to back home runs by Wilkerson and Kinsler in the 2nd inning. Thanks to both run support and good pitching by rookie Edinson Volquez, the Rangers have their first win streak of mor than one game for the year.

            TOR - 2 9 0
            TEX - 6 11 0

            WP: E. Volquez (1-1)
            LP: R. Halladay (0-3)

            Game 3 - 4/16/06

Wou score 11 runs in the first 2 innings, more than likely you're going to win. That's exactly what the Rangers did thanks to some clutch hitting and a grand slam by Ian Kinsler in the 1st inning.

                  Game 1 - 4/22/06

The Rangers started off their series against the Evil Empire in a good way, by shutting them out. The Yankees couldn't drive in any of the many runners that they had in scoring position.

                  TEX - 3 8 1

The Rangers scored 8 runs in the 8th inning, and that was more than enough to get them the win. Michael Young was the only Rangers without a hit, as he continues to struggle, hitting just .227 so far this year.

                  TEX - 7 15 0

                      Rangers' April Update

The Rangers did very well for the most part during the month of April. They have scored the most runs in the MLB with 140 while hitting .292 as a team with 33 HRs, which is 2nd in the MLB. The pitching has been good as well, the team ERA is 3.29, which is 5th in the majors. The only problem is that certain players that are expected to do well haven't been. Two perfect examples of this are Michael Young and Mark Teixeira. There are also rumors that Jerry Hairston could take Brad Wilkerson's job, and that if a decent outfielder hits the market, Wilkerson could be gone.

                      CF - Gary Matthews Jr. - .341, 3 HR, 10 RBI, 6 SB (19 games)
                      SS - Michael Young - .261, 5 HR, 16 RBI
                      RF - Mark DeRosa - .389, 4 HR, 21 RBI, 37 H
                      1B - Mark Teixeira - .237, 6 HR, 16 RBI
