Assassin's Hookies Dynasty Run for the National Title (360)

Welcome to my NCAA 07 Dynasty coverage of the Virginia Tech Hookies. My objective for this dynasty is to win the ACC title as well as a National title with the Hookies. I know the task won't be easy but I am looking forward to the challenge.

    My Settings

    Play Level:All American
    Quarter Length:7 minutes
Sliders:slightly altered in my favor (will change pending out outcome of season)
    Rosters:FK's Rosters Mid August Update
Recruiting:I must recruit players to fill positions needed first before going after other players. If any players are interested in my school I must at least scout them even if I don't pick them up.

Anyway these are my guidelines and I'm looking forward to seeing what becomes of this season.

Virginia Tech enters the 2006 season ranked #21 in the Coaches Poll but they will be breaking in a new coach this year as the former coach was shown the door just weeks before the season. there was no reason gievn as to why the change was made.

The Hookies will be welcoming in first year head coach Dennis Cecil who will be keeping the curretn coaching staff at Virginia Tech. Coach Cecil is looking forward to proving to the Hookie faithful that he will indeed lead them to the promise land.

              Akron @ Virginia Tech

The head coaching debut of Dennis Cecil took place this week against the Akron Zips in front of the masses in Blacksberg. Of course the eyes of the Hookie faithful were going to be on the Hookie offense which would be lead by Sean Glennon & Brandon Ore while the Akron offense would be lead by Luke Getsy and the air attack of the Zips.

The Zips won the opening toss and stood across the line from the Hookie defense which knew they'd have to step up in today's game. The Hookie defnese stood it's ground forcing a three & out giving the ball to the Hookie offense. But the Hookie offense found out just how hard it was going to be to move against the Zip defense as they were forced into a three & out.

The Zip offense did manage to strike on the board first as Getsy would hit Long for a TD one of the few TD's the defense would give up today. The Zip defense got into the act when Sean Glennon fumbled the ball on an attempted pass the Zips would recover the ball and take it 78 yards for the score.

The Hookie offense however did not give up as they managed a drive before the end of the quarter which would get them there first score of the game as the quarter expired. Jesse Allen would pound the ball into the endzone on a triple option putting the Hookies on the board.

Things were looking up for the Hookie offense as the second quarter started but they quickly came crashing down as the Hookie offense helped out the Zips who would put up thriteen points in the quarter while the Hookies managed zero points for the quarter.

Coach Cecil made a change at QB in the second half brining in Cory holt & Ike Whitaker but neither could manage to help out the team even though Whitaker tally up 135 yards on the ground the Hookies countined to find it hard to find the endzone. But Jesse Allen would find the endzone for a second time in the game.

But the Zips would be too much for the Hookies who got embarassed in front of there fans and left with alot of question marks entering the second game.
