The University Of Memphis Tigers: 2007 and on

This is my first ACTUAL legacy that I will be posting. After flopping back and forth I finally decided on using the Tigers mainly to use the hype machine Derrick Rose. As a bit of background information season 1 saw the Tigers go 24-8 and a 1st round loss in the C-USA tourney. The Tigers would still be rewarded with a #2 seed where they would lose on the 1st round to Rutgers.

Despite the up and downs of the first season the Tigers begin 2007 as the preseason #1 thanks to newcomer PG Derrick Rose and SF Jeff Robinson. Team leaders Chris Doulglas-Roberts aka CDR and Antonio Anderson aka Tone are both Juniors but look to lead the Tigers scoring charge. Junior Robert Doziers has Tigers fans preparing the championship parade reporting to fall camp now at 6-10 and weighing 225 lbs. With a deep bench with more expirence this Tigers appear to be a lock for the Final 4.

If anyone has a problem with me using these photos let me know and I will take them down. They are for fictional use only, not intended as disrespect or anything.

Four star center Dwayne Gabler has Memphis as first on his list of schools to attend. Gabler who hails from Chicago, IL warmed up to Memphis after seeing AAU and summer ball teammate/opponent Derrick Rose come to Memphis. "Seeing Derrick go down there (to Memphis) I gave it a hard look then. I think I would have a chance to play for a pretty big program. I heard they started the year #1...it gets not bigger than that."

And things get no bigger than Gabler who stands 6-10 and is 233 lbs. Gabler who warmed up to Memphis even though his main concern was staying close to home. DePaul and Marquette are 2 and 3 on his list. Many feel the fact the Tigers made him their top target swayed him. Gabler stated a few times more than playing time and playing for a big school he wanted to feel wanted.

Key Stats: A+ Shooting, A- Hustle, A- Intelligence, A- Potential. Dwayne is the #9 center and 88 ranked SR overall.

Next Up....The Tigers begin their season at home against Tennessee State.
