Haha, yeah, that save looked pretty brutal. Thought it was gonna go in. Nice win vs. Betis, thought they might pull even with that late surge. Great stuff, I'll be following.

Because of this thread I started playing a lot of exhibition games with Valencia. They are a fun team to play with. Joaquin's speed is great with Villa and Morientes. I've actually been able to win a few games on the top level. I also love their home stadium.

My best win came last night against Barcelona. I was outshot 22-1!! The 1 shot was a converted PK by Villa in the 82nd minute after he was taken down by Xavi in the box. Probably my greatest PES win ever!!

Matt, thanks man, yeah...that save was just mean. stay tuned.

Riz, congrats man, that's a big win. I have to face them soon, hopefully I can find some time to play today or tonight, the weather is finally nice enough to play some golf though...

Valencia are a very fun side to play with. You're absolutely right about Joaquin. He is a speed demon and can really pull off some big plays, my problem is I play him too much and his fatigue is starting to kick in. Talking about this is already getting me pumped for the Barca game, sorry for no updates, but I can guarantee there'll be one tonight.

Keep me updated, Riz, you know I don't mind hearing about anything related to PES. Take care, peace.

Ouch. You're playing golf in February! I just had a conversation with my boss about a new set of irons and that I'll be playing my first round of the year at the end of March. I'm in Chicago. For now it's the driving range in heated stalls.

For the Barca game last night I switched to a 5-3-2 formation and B-C strategy for defense. I also dropped my midfielders back and moved the CB's more to the outside to to cut down Zambrotta's crosses. A lot of their shots ended up being weak from the top of the box because my strategy was to make them attack me up the middle. I also added Ayala in the middle of the back line. I had very few opportunities on offense until the 72nd minute.

I switched to a normal 4-4-2 formation and brought in Del Horno and Silva. Because they were fresh the game opened up a bit and I was able to get it to Villa.

In the 83rd minute I went to a 5-4-1 formation and dropped the midfielders back and withstood the final fury. I was a little fired up to say the least.

It was a tough game and somewhat frustrating because I had no opportunities until late. I just stayed back, played D and waited until late to try to open up the play. It worked!!

I'm starting to figure out that editing the positions of the players in the formation constantly throughout the game is essential to playing good D. At the Top level the CPU makes EVERY pass and wins about 90% of the 50/50 balls. I also notice that that will take the ball from you everytime you try to dribble in your own box. CLEAR THE BALL!

Lastly, I've taken the e_text, the o_text, and the stadiums from the Evolution patch, and the game is perfect now. There are more stadiums in the Evolution patch. The text file has put everything in English and I can still use the Option file from the SuperPatch.

Holy crap, I left this thread alone for almost a month - time to get started again - and what better way to |re|start than against the Giants - BARCELONA!

Those tackles you had on Xavi and Giuly were nasty. :y4:

Thanks guys - good to be playing again.

Yes, those tackles were vicious - I'm more rusty than I thought; it's a shame because I love playing with Joaquin and Vicente - going to have to sit Vicente next match versus Atletico Madrid.
