Game 1 - San Diego State vs. Fresno State

Aztecs lose opener as offense struggles, 28-17
    First Quarter
The game began with Fresno State receiving the kickoff and going 3 and out. The Aztecs go 3 and out also but the punt by Simnjanovski is fumbled and Caliste recovers the loose ball for SDSU at the Bulldogs 7 yard line and on the first play Truvillion runs it in for the TD. Both teams continue to struggle trading 3 and outs until SDSU kicker Kirovski misses a 45 yard FG try wide and on the 2nd play Grady hits Davis in stride with a 74 yard TD pass that ties the game. SDSU receives the kickoff and drives 78 yards in only 4 plays as a 43 yard Sheriff to Tolver pass and a Truvillion 25 yard run set up a 7 yard Sheriff to Tolver strike for a TD and the quarter ends during the ensuing Fresno drive,14-7 Aztecs.

    Second Quarter
The Bulldogs drive continues in the 2nd quarter and the 78 yard drive is capped off with a Grady to Berrian 36 yard TD pass. The teams trade punts and after Sheriff throws an INT the Bulldogs hit paydirt again, this time Fontenot runs it in from 6 yards out for the TD. The Aztecs run the two minute drill with time running out and Kirovski nails the 43 yard FG with :03 left and the half ends, 21-17 Fresno State.

    Third Quarter
The 2nd half begins with both teams' offenses struggling until near the end of the third quarter when Fresno State scores again after a big punt return as a Grady to Reid 2 yard TD pass puts the Bulldogs up 28-17.

    Fourth Quarter
The 4th quarter is much like the other three as the teams continue to trade punts and after the Aztecs turn the ball over on downs late in the game Fresno State runs out the clock.

Final Score: Fresno State 28, SDSU 17
    Aztecs stats:
    passing: Sheriff 11-30-1, 194 yds, 1 TD
    rushing: Truvillion 20-78(TD), Simmons 2-11, Sheriff 2-(minus 8)
    receiving: Tolver 4-80(TD), Osgood 2-48, Truvillion 2-11, Davenport 1-42, Fletcher 1-16, Simmons 1-(minus 3)
