    All-Time Tourney V.3

Well it's that time of year again and I'm back with another all-time tourney with college hoops.

The last two years I simulated 65-team tournaments with all the classic teams in college hoops.

The first season I did the seedings based on overall rating and there were some very interesting results. Duke of 2001 ended up winning the whole tournament.

The next year I took into consideration the team's record from that season for the seedings. This time Kentucky '96 won it all.

Now having all the names of the classic teams and spending a few hours editing every sig shot from Re****'s, I am ready to begin the next tourney.

The tournament will begin with the play in game of '85 Villanova against '83 N.C. State.

Below is a link of the tournament bracket at bracketmanager.com, you have to register at the site to view the bracket and then you can actually predict it. I will try later to get an image of teh bracket up here so you don't have to go to the site.

I hope you all enjoy this little addiction I have every year at this time.

      Re: All-Time Tourney V.3

The tournament started off with a great game. 1982 North Carolina and 1985 St. John's experienced a barn burner that would come down to the last shot in regulation. Trailing by three with the ball Michael Jordan and North Carolina would need a big shot to extend the game into overtime. There was no doubt at all who would be taking the shot as Jordan came off of a Perkins pick to rise and shoot the three as time expired. Well Michael is Michael and the game would enter overtime where the Tarheels took care of St. John's and won 68-61.

One of the few upsets in terms of the seeds would occur when '03 Syracuse made battle with '00 Michigan State. Both teams with title-winning experience the game would come down to turnovers. The Spartans could not foil the 2-3 zone attack by the Orange and lost 66-53.

The Doctors of Dunk would face a tough challenge in their first round game against the underrated Wildcats of '01. Trailing nearly the entire game Louisville '80 would need 20 points from center Marty Pulliam and 18 from Derek Smith to squeeze by with a 75-68 victory over Arizona.

Bill Walton prvoed to be too much for the '90 Yellow Jackets in a 15-2 matchup that was closer than expected. Kenny Anderson led Georgia Tech who seemed on a mission with 16 points. Walton's 27 points, 12 boards, and six blocks would be enough to seal the deal for UCLA '72 winning 76-65.

Duke '92 is pretty good. Jason Kidd and Lamond Murray would not be enough for the Blue Devils who received the best individual performance of the first round from Bobby Hurley in their 90-66 win over '94 Cal. Wilt Chamberlain and Isiah Thomas would headline the first game in the East Region. 1990 LSU and 1999 Connecticutt needed more time to decide the outcome of this one.
