AA's Auburn Tiger Roundball Regime (College Hoops 360)

    Well...

I'm in year 3. I went 19-13 and got an NIT bid in year 1 at Auburn.

Signed two big men over 6'10" in the offseason that seemed to be the missing pieces to the puzzle for AU as I went 26-7 and won the National Title against Georgia Tech in year 2.

Now..in year 3...I'm 6-0 beating the likes of Wichita State, Xavier, Oklahoma, Drake, South Alabama, and Louisville (a rematch of year 2's Final Four matchup).

I've climbed from #9 in the nation to #2 and have an 85 rated team overall.

Next up for the #2 Auburn Tigers...THE GAME OF THE YEAR...so far.

    #2 Auburn (6-0, 0-0)
    at
    #1 North Carolina (6-0, 0-0)

HUGE game. UNC is STACKED..rated a 91 overall and coming off a 72-55 point BEATDOWN of Kansas.

Auburn has really turned the corner under new Head Coach Drew Leach, improving each season under the young coach, 19-13, 26-7, and now 6-0 with 5 double digit margins of victory.

I'll be sure to post the recap of this titanic game when I play after work.

    Tigers Tame Tarheels

The #2 Ranked Auburn Tigers (7-0,0-0) looked to be in cruise control then had to hit the gas to avoid a heroic comeback by the North Carolina Tarheels (6-1, 0-0) as Auburn held on 78-72 over the Tarheels.

It was a tale of two halves as Auburn looked to be in complete control, taking a 47-27 lead into the half. But North Carolina wasn't the #1 ranked team in the nation for nothing. The Heels stormed back in the second half to actually take the lead 67-66 with 3 minutes to go in the game. But it was the play of Auburn's big men down the stretch that sealed the deal as the Tigers center McHugh Spencer scored 8 points, blocked a shot, and grabbed 4 rebounds...2 offensive...down the stretch to send the Tigers to the top of the polls.

Player of the Game was Auburn's Spencer who finished with 18 points, 13 rebounds, and 3 blocked shots. The Tigers shot an outstanding 54% from behind the 3pt arc. North Carolina was led in scoring by Bobby Frasor with 22pts, and 6 assists.
