The New York Yankees (MVP '05 PC)

Using all the updated mods, I sim each season and play only the post season. Then do all the front office post season nonsense (without making any stupid pitching acquisitions like the real life Bronx Bombers) and repeat the process.

    2007 ALCS vs Minnesota

    Game 1: Clemens vs. Santana
    Game 2: Wang vs. Silva
    Game 3: Pettitte vs. Liriano
Game 4: Hughes vs. Baker (if necessary)
Game 5: Clemens vs. Santana (if necessary)

    Game 1 @ New York: Yankees 5-2

In a match up of two of the games best pitchers in recent history, Roger Clemens got the best of Santana in a Game 1 victory. The Twins scored both of the runs in the first inning on a fielding error by Johnny Damon. Santana had a shutout into the 6th, but a Bobby Abreu 3-run homer into the upper deck was the momentum shifter. Abreu added an RBI double in the 8th as well and Rivera got the save in the 9th.

    Game 2 @ New York: Twins 4-3 (10 innings)

The Yankees got an early lead on Abreu's second homer of the series. Jason Giambi added a solo shot of his own to make it 2-0. The Twins struck back in the 7th when Bengie Molina hit a bases clearing triple on a line drive to the outfield that Abreu misplayed. The ball rolled all the way to the wall allowing three runs to score and the slow-footed Molina to get to third. Robinson Cano came through in the clutch with a monstrous 8th inning homer into the upper deck in right. Rivera came in and pitched a flawless ninth, but in the 10th Jason Tyner got a bloop hit that he stretched into a double and a seeing-eye single by Jason Bartlett gave the Twins a 4-3 lead. The Yanks got two men on the bottom half of the inning, but Abreu lined out to LF to end the game.

    Game 3 @ Minnesota: Twins 2-0
Fransisco Liriano pitched a gem, throwing a complete game shutout to bring the Twins within one win of advancing to the ALCS. The Yanks managed just six hits, three of them coming from Damon and two coming from Matsui. In the top of the 9th, A-Rod came to the plate with Jeter on first and two outs but flew out to deep right-center to end the game.

The pivotal Game 4 match up will pit 21-year old phenom Phil Hughes against Scott Baker.

    Game 4 @ Minnesota: Yankees 5-4 (11 innings)

The Yankees staved off elimination for at least one game in a 5-4 comeback victory over the Twins. Rookie Phil Hughes allowed only two hits in 7 innings, but both were home runs (a solo and two-run shot) and he left the game trailing 3-2. In the top of the 8th Giambi hit his second HR of the game to tie things up.

In the bottom of the ninth the Twins had runners on the corners with two outs and Torii Hunter at the plate with Brian Bruney on the mound. Hunter hit a screamer right back at Bruney, which bounced off his stomach towards the first base line. Bruney quickly recovered and raced towards the ball, grabbed it and flipped it to Doug Meintiewicz to get Hunter by a half a step and keep the Yankees hopes alive.

In the top of the 11th a Hideki Matsui sac-fly scored Derek Jeter to give the Yankees the lead. Rivera had a 1-2-3 ninth to send the series back to New York for Game 5, which will feature a rematch of Game 1 with Roger Clemens facing off against Johan Santana.
