*I do not have the amount of time or skills(props to Psy) to do this everyday but what I am doing is a month by month or maybe even a week by week synopsis of my Manager/GM mode with New York on the PS3 version of The Show.
Rosters-MK Knights update with some full minors teams complete
Difficulty-Default(did not feel the need to change anything since it is Manager mode)
Season Length-162 games
Game Mode-Franchise*
Jeter was overheard saying, "I will miss Mr. Torre but at the end of the day this is a business and it's all about us getting to that pinnacle of sports again." Fans were left wondering who the Yankees would get to replace Torre since Lou(Pinella) has joined the Cubs, and no other viable replacement in sight. Well they would not wait long for answers.
Just a couple of hours later, the Yankees introduced Dan Dockery as their new GM and we would also learn that his first move would be to make himself Manager. This is often heard of in football, but baseball is another story. Dockery understands the game and is always a student to how other teams handle the business side of it. "I am only 32 years old, but after seeing what Theo has done in Boston, I am certain I can accomplish great things."
He does not plan on making any personnel changes at this time and is content to see how things progress before making any changes. Dockery knows the pressure of New York and is ready to take on that challenge. "I appreciate Mr. Steinbrenner giving me this opportunity. I have been a Yankees fan my entire life and do not want to see another long stretch of not winning a world championship. 1981-1996 was not the best time to be a Yankees fan and I do not want our fans to suffer like I did. Cash did a great job of replenishing the farm system but now I want to take it a step further. We will leave things staus quo for now but my phone line is open. The right mix of youngsters and vets is what I am trying to accomplish and if that means some guys with big contracts are not here at season's end, do not say I did not warn you."
When asked about the A-Rod situation, Dockery simply stated, "we need A-Rod focused on the job at hand. My assistant and his agent can do all the talking while we concentrate on the task at hand. I want A-Rod here in New York but if he does not want to stay, then I will do my best to make sure we can get competitive value for him."
