The Legacy of Coach Mike, a ch 2k7 dynasty
Press Conference (New York, New York)- Today the Columbia Lions of the Ivy League announce that they have made their decision on their new D1 Mens Basketball Coach. They have decided on Coach Mike, a 25 year old who was a 3 year assistant coach for the lions after his playing career ended as the all time leading scorer at Columbia. Coach Mike looks to improve on the 11-16 mark the lions posted last year. In fact, Coach Mike is even quoted in saying that, "I am going to turn this program around. By the time i leave here the fans will not be satisfied with anything less then a NCAA Tournament bid every season."Rutgers Basketball Legacy: http://www.operationsports.com/forum...post2038691845Tags: None -

Columbia Mens Basketball Press book: Meet the Starters! ( I kept the fake names)
PG, #1 JR- Mark King- Mark is a superb FT shooter but is just average in all his other catagories. Will look to be a huge playmaker this year for the lions. OVR- 61
SG, # 11 FR- Lebo Rios- Lebo is a good shooter and has decent ball handling skills. He is the starter for now because as a freshmen he will get to improve more as time goes on. OVR- 59
SF, # 23 JR- Clement Simpson- Clement is decent at every single skill set, he really has no weakness but he also has no strengths. Will be a good role player for us. OVR- 63
PF, # 20 Jr- Juan Bradford- Juan is a great shooter for a big man and is also decent at all the core ratings. Look for him to stretch defenses with his shooting ability. OVR- 61
C, # 55 JR- Buster Sood- Look for Buster to be our leading scorer this season. He is our best scorer and is a beast down low. Without him our team would be much worse. OVR- 65Rutgers Basketball Legacy: http://www.operationsports.com/forum...post2038691845Comment

Columbia Basketball 3 game Report
Game 1: Columbia vs Duke
1st 2nd OT Final
Columbia 6 8 0 14
Duke 6 16 0 22
Game MVP: J.Scheyer- 6 pts, 2 ast, 2 stl
Coach Notes: Coming into my first game as a head coach, I was both nervous and excited. Honestly I just wanted to keep this game close. And in the first half, we did! Duke was taking a lot of threes and just continued to miss. Unfortunately so did we and when Duke began the 2nd half on fire we still played like we did in the 2nd half and we ended the game getting blown out.
Game 2: Columbia vs NJIT
1st 2nd OT Final
Columbia 4 5 0 9
NJIT 11 16 0 27
Game MVP: D. James- 12 pts
Coach Notes: Wow. Thats all I can say. Wow. I expected to win this game, NJIT is a no name team who i honestly thought were much worse then me. I was wrong. We currently have no offense at all, as you can see. All I can do about this is try a little harder next game.
Game 3: Columbia vs Long Island
1st 2nd OT Final
Columbia 10 6 0 16
Long Island 7 6 0 13
Game MVP: B. Sood- 8 pts, 1 reb, 1 blk
Coach Notes: YES!!! I have finally won my first game as a head coach and it feels great. Sood was a beast down low and when we needed a basket we always went to him and he always delivered. Things are looking up!Last edited by tmacfan12; 06-14-2007, 10:50 PM.Rutgers Basketball Legacy: http://www.operationsports.com/forum...post2038691845Comment

Columbia Basketball 5 Game Report
1st 2nd OT Final
Columbia 7 7 0 14
Stony Brook 6 5 0 11
Game MVP: B. Sood- 10 pts, 1 stl
Coach Notes: With this win we are at 500 for the first time all season. I hope we can continue this two game streak next game seeing as we are matched up against a tough providence team.
1st 2nd OT Final
Columbia 10 2 0 12
Providence 6 12 0 18
Game MVP: M.McCollum- 10 pts, 2 stl
Coach Notes: We almost had them. In the first half we were energized and they didn't expect that which lead to a few steals and easy baskets by us. Then, in the second half we couldn't do anything right. Whenever the ball was passed it seemed to be intercepted by Providence. Ugh.
1st 2nd OT Final
Columbia 8 7 15 0
Sacred Heart 5 6 11 0
Game MVP: C. Simpson- 6 pts, 2 reb
Coach Notes: Well I expected to win this and we did. Simpson is really developoing into a great slasher. Look for him to continue that and for us to feed him the ball more in games.
1st 2nd OT Final
Columbia 8 6 0 14
Wagner 10 11 0 21
Game MVP: K. Gleason- 8 pts, 2 ast
Coach Notes: We are a streaky team and that is the last thing i want for us to be. We have won every game we were leading at the half in and lost every game we wern't. Its as if they game is decided in the first half and the 2nd half is just for show.
1st 2nd OT Final
Columbia 11 12 0 23
Lafayette 9 9 0 18
Game MVP: C. Simpson- 8 pts, 1 stl
Coach Notes: Again we are leading at the half and again we win. This game was at least slightly impressive because we went into a similar to us Lafayette's home gym and came out with a win.
Columbia's record is: 4-4Rutgers Basketball Legacy: http://www.operationsports.com/forum...post2038691845Comment

Re: The Legacy of Coach Mike, a ch 2k7 dynasty
Lookin' good so far. I don't know if I can handle 3 minute halves but I just started an open legacy with my alma mater, S.C. State. I'll be using the default 10 minute halves with the sim halves at 13 minutes. This open legacy will have fully named rosters too.FK

Re: The Legacy of Coach Mike, a ch 2k7 dynasty
You're right, it does go fast. I finished the first game of the season in no time and checked the stats and, with the sim length at 13 minutes, we fall in line with the rest of the conference.
The only I'd be worried about in your case is that game where in real life the underdog would get an early lead and eventually lose by 30. You could get an early lead and pull off a lot of upsets.Theoretically!
