    San Diego Bolts (APF2k8)

    San Diego Bolts

    Gold:
    CB Rod Woodson
    RB Thurman Thomas

    Silver:
    DE: Leslie O'Neal
    WR Herman Moore
    T Jim Lachey

    Bronze:
    WR Anthony Carter
    QB Bernie Kosar
    TE Eric Green
    ILB Ken Norton jr.
    DE Dexter Manley
    FS Eugene Robinson

Offense will use multiple formations that take advantage of a ball control short passing game, and mostly zone blocking rushing attack. Lots of single back formations.

Defensively, 4-3 base defense. Bend but don't break philosophy. Main principle of defense is to get to the QB.

Is Ronnie Lott in the game? If so, I'm shocked you didn't take him.

This should be fun to read.

He is in the game. I was going to take him, but went with Woodson. Woodson is just too good to pass up. Shut down CB. Supports the run like a safety and can return kicks.

Lot of the same principles. A lot like the Gruden version of the WCO.

Nice. Only other APF story I've seen so far besides mine. Make sure to read mine =D (Philly Liberty)

I see you're using some players a lot would usually overlook (O'Neal, Carter, Thomas). Nice change.

                      Re: San Diego Bolts (APF2k8)

Opened the season on the road vs. the Chicago Beasts.

Defensively their front 7 was stacked, Butkus, Ed Too Tall Jones and Reggie White anchored them up front.

Offensively, even more loaded, Emmitt Smith, John Elway, John Mackey and Jerry Rice.

I knew I was in trouble when Eugene Robinson got hurt for me on the very first series. He's out for a week now. First quarter the offenses were just feeling each other out. Quarter ends 0-0.

It all went south in the second quarter. My offense continued to sputter, and Emmitt Smith began to wear my defense down. Then it fell apart. Smith rushed for 3 touchdowns in the second quarter, and I just couldn't get anything going offensively. 21-3 at the half.

Second half started like the first. Not much happening. Emmitt busts out for a 35 yard scoring run in the 4th, due to a terrible play call on my part, to put the Beasts up 28-3. With 2:00 left, Thurman Thomas took a Bernie Kosar screen pass 60 yards for a touchdown on a dazzling catch and run. That's the way the game would end with a humilating 28-10 loss. Their defense absolutely stifled me, and they controlled the clock. Emmitt Smith ended up carrying the ball 35 times.

Anthony Carter made what was probably the best video game catch I have ever seen. One on one coverge runs a fade, Kosar puts it out there, and Carter lays out for it and makes a circus catch over the defender. Of course 3 plays later I punted.

                      Boxscoe.

And people say Oregon's jerseys suck, the Chicago Beasts look awful. :y4:

                            Tough loss.
