Tornonto would play Philly on this fine Friday night, part of a 'weekend double-header', where these 2 teams would meet in PHI, then 2 days later, head up north to T.O. This was expected to be a good game.
Nobody in PHI was disappointed at all, especially because Iverson lit up the Raps with 35 of his own points, 15 of which came in the last 6 minutes of the game.
Throughout, Carter and Iverson lead their teams into a great battle. The team defenses on both sides were extremely tremendous. Both teams got alot of steals, as Philly had a season-high of 19 steals in this one game.
So with 3 minutes left in the game, Toronto is up 98-92. Iverson is still on fire, and while he is hitting long range bombs, Carter and the Raps are getting easy layups, due to the breakdown of the Philly defense. At 1:30, and the Sixers down by 7, Iverson hits a 3, steals the ball and hits another and gets fouled (How this game ended like this, I don't know). Tied at 7, the Raps fail to convert on an easy layup and the Sixers run the break and Snow puts in a layup and the Raptors are down by 2 with 14 seconds.
Everybody in the gym knew where the ball was headed. Carter calls an ISO on the right wing, throws up a 3 and misses....bad. with 6 seconds left, Carter stole the in-bounds pass, threw up a fadeaway three and....
The Raptors win the game by a single point, due to Carter-theatrics.
Philly goes to the locker room, obviously upset, feeling like God had taken the soul of all of those players and just squished it while the ball was in the air.
Phi will come up to the Air Canada Center looking for serious revenge.
Toronto wins, 105-104.
