    NBA2K3: Cincinnati Knicks (Fantasy Draft)

I decided to go with a fantasy draft and create a team of all players who played college ball in my hometown of cincinnati. This didn't make for a team of superstars but they're pretty well rounded. I am 4-1 through the first five games. Here's my openeing day lineup.
    PG - Nick Van Exel
    SG - Wally Szczerbiak
    SF - Ruben Patterson
    PF - Kenyon Martin
C - Tom Moler (Created player. Rated 81. Good rebounder and defender with a soft touch close to the basket.)

    PG - Steve Logan
    SG - James Posey
    PF - Danny Fortson
    SG - DeMarr Johnson
    C - Aaron WIlliams
    SF - Ira Newbl
    PG - Kenny Satterfield
    PF - Brian Grant
    PF - Corie Blount
All games are all star, 10 min quarters. All rules and fouls up with custom sliders.
I started the season on the road vs. Miami. I can't remember who all was on their team but I won.
    Knicks91 Heat78
Martin had 16 pts and 11 rebounds while shooting 66%.
Moler chipped in 12, had 18 boards, and shot 50%

My home opener was against the hawks. After starting cold I took the lead at the end of the first and never let go. Moler and Martin did a great job defensively holding Shaq to 6 points.
    Knicks91 Hawks85
    Moler - 14pts, 12reb, 63 fg%
    Patterson - 11pts, 6reb, 41 fg%

The clippers came to visit and gave me a run for my money. Elton Brand had 30 and 15 boards while Keith Van Horn put in 16. LA held a lead until the second quarter and Kept it close until the end of the game when New York put it away with a timely run. Steve Logan and Demarr Johnson made important contributions from the bench scoring 11 and 10 respectively and putting together the second quarter run that erased a 10 point deficit. I hit a lot of foul shots at the end to stretch the lead.
    Knicks108 Clippers87
    Van Exel - 24pts, 2ast, a perfect 10/10 from the field.
    Szczerbiak 18pts, 5ast, 64 fg%

For the second game in a row a team from the west with a star power forward came to town. This time it was Memphis and Antonio McDyess. He had 27pts, 13reb. The knicks controlled it from the tip with Memphis making a late run to bring it close. Szczerbiak went down in the second quarter with, what else? A bruised hip. Out for 28 days or so.
    Knicks89 Grizzlies84
    Van Exel - 23 pts, 3ast
    Johnson - 15 Pts 2 stl

Going on the road to New Orleans I decided to tweak my sliders a bit and Baron Davis made me pay with 41 pts, and 7 assists. Antawn Jamison added 19pts and 12 rebs. DeMarr Johnson started off ice cold replacing Szczerbiak and James Posey replaced him and helped keep it close, knocking down a three with 4 min left to tie it but Davis took control and New orleans put together a run to seal the game.
    Knicks92 Hornets102
    Posey - 23 Pts, 4Ast, 3stl
    Van Exel - 20 pts, 5ast, 3stl

Next game is against the Bulls. I might update afterwards, that way I'll remember more than I will 5 games later.

So the Bulls came to madison square garden with a 4-4 record and a starting 5 of:
    C - Raef Lafrentz
    PF - Vin Baker - 13pts, 9reb
    SF - Peja Stojakovich - 23pts, 4reb
    SG - Bonzi Wells
    PG - Bobby Jackson
The knicks came out firing on all cylinders and scored 33 in the 1st to open up a 12 pt lead. The Bulls seemed to have a real hard time getting in the way as van Exel drove to the basket for easy layups off picks again and again. To make matters worse they kept launching the ball out of bounds. Brian Shaw came off the bench and had an embarrassing 6 TOs in only 12 minutes. Knicks closed this one out easily and I let the cpu take over with a 20 pt lead with 5 min left in the 4th.

    Knicks100 Bulls83
    Moler - 19pts, 18reb, 2ast
    Van Exel - 22pts, 2ast, 2stl

Next up I had the Kings at home and a starting 5 of
    C - Jeff Foster
    PF - Tim Duncan 18pts, 26reb, 3blk
    SF - Grant Hill
    SG - Jason Terry
    PG - DaJuan Wagner
The Kings came out frigid, shooting 28% in the 1st. Good defense helped them pull close and keep it there until the 4th. Duncans dominance on the boards and Drew Gooden's 17points and 10 rebounds off the bench weren't enough the overcome the Knicks in the end.

    Knicks92 Kings80
    Moler - 19pts, 18reb
    Posey - 14pts, 4ast, 4reb, 4blk

I'm very happy with my 6-1 start. Knicks are playing great as a team. Van Exel is the leading scorer with 17.5 a game. Moler leads on the boards with 12.3, and Van Exel is dishing out only 3.5 assists a game. The assists are spread out pretty evenly with all the started and my bench guards all avg 2.5 - 3.
