    Re: Liverpool FC (WE9)

    Rafa Benitez and Fernando Torres

How do you feel after just signing Fernando Torres for a record fee?
I am real happy with the signing. Obviously, signing someone like Fernando Torres is going to help the team a lot, and hopefully he can score a lot of goals. I think then everyone will call it a fantastic signing.

Coming from the La Liga, do you think he can adapt to the Premiership?
I think it's going to take some time to get used to playing against different competition, but I really think he'll be an even better player as time goes on.

Do you think at 23 Fernando Torres is a complete player?

I think by anyones standards you can consider him a "complete" player, but we still got some things to work on him. With his speed and strength we're really confident he's going to add a new dimension to our team that we've never had.

Do you have any goals in mind for Torres?
Right now I'm just shooting for somewhere around 15-20 goals, but I'd much rather prefer somewhere where 3-4 players all get 15 goals, then maybe we'll finish much higher.

What do you expect on his Anfield debut?
It's hard to say what I expect, but knowing Torres from the meetings we've had, he's going to have a lot of mixed emotions. I'm hoping he feeds off this energy and maybe even put in a goal.

    Thanks for your time.
    Your welcome.
