Week 1: New England Patriots vs. Indianapolis Colts

The rematch of the 2003-2004 AFC championship game.
There were a lot of mistakes in this game. But that is some what expected in the first game of the year. But the weather also contributed. It was a rainy, slick field.

Neither team could get their offense going in the first quarter. The game's first touchdown came off of an interception by Tyrone Poole on Peyton Manning that was returned 25 yards for a touchdown midway through the first quarter.
Late in the first quarter, the score still 7-0, Brady found Deion Branch in the endzone for a touchdown. 14-0 Pats at the end of the first quarter.

The Pats would continue to dominate the game, for 3 more quarters, winning the game.

Final Score: Pats 45, Colts 0

    Stats:

    Brady: 111.2 rating, 13/19 passing, 284 yards, 3 touchdowns, 2 INT's.
    Manning: 29.7 rating, 15/29 passing, 168 yards, 0 touchdowns, 3 INT's.

Corey Dillon: 27 carries, 138 yards, 5.1 average, 2 touchdowns.
Edgerrin James: 13 carries, 6 yards, .5 average, 0 touchdowns.

    Branch: 5 receptions, 104 yards, 2 touchdowns.
    Patten: 3 receptions, 63 yards.
Reggie Wayne: 5 receptions, 61 yards.
    James: 3 receptions, 21 yards.

Just bought this game for $1. I realize I have to turn the difficulty up a bit. I'll do that before next game.

Another rainy game. Tom Brady and Corey Dillon both had great games. The Patriots were 8/10 on third down which allowed them to continue drives and maintain possession. Also key, was the the Patriots' ability to stop the run and force Josh McCown to throw 31 times, and only complete 10.

      Brady: 21/32, 289 yards, 3 touchdowns, 1 int.
      McCown: 10/31, 171 yards, 0 touchdowns, 2 int.

      Dillon: 26 carries, 135 yards, 5.2 average, 2 touchdowns.
      Shipp: 9 carries, 12 yards, 1.3 average, 1 touchdown.

      Branch: 4 receptions, 109 yards.
      Brown: 5 receptions, 65 yards, 1 touchdown.
      Boldin: 5 receptions, 98 yards.
      Fitzgerald: 5 receptions, 73 yards.

      Injuries:

Keith Traylor, fractured arm, 16 weeks.
Dan Koppen, hyperextended shoulder, 1 week.

I wouldn't really say I'm a huge Michigan fan though. There aren't really many teams in New England for college football so I just follow Michigan and BC.

Week 4: New England @ Buffalo

The Pats had a hard time finding any rhythm in the passing game and didn't make any adjustments. They kept passing, hoping at some point they would find a rhythm. Brady completed just 40% of his passes and the running game never really got going either. Brady was sacked 10 times in the game also. Still, the Pats defense dominated, and they hung on for the win.

Final score: Patriots 10, Buffalo 3.

Week 5: New England vs. Miami

NE controlled most of the game until the final three minutes when both teams seemed to just score at will. There were a total of 28 points scored in the final three minutes. Still, NE hung on once again in a close game.

Final Score: Patriots 38, Miami 35.

I'm planning on some more detailed write ups but I keep closing out of the game once it ends and I can't get stats or anything. If anyone knows how to get stats for a certain game after I already close out of the after game screen, let me know.

                  Week 6: Patriots vs. Seahawks

Tom Brady was much more accurate today but still had a few mistakes that lead to interceptions. Corey Dillon had trouble finding any room to run.

Seattle led off the scoring in the 1st quarter with a field goal on their first drive. On the ensuing possession for NE, Brady threw an interception, but the Seahawks were unable to do anything with it. When Brady got the ball back he threw his 2nd interception, but once again, Seattle could do nothing.

In the second quarter NE finally got on the board with a 3 yard touchdown run right up the middle by Corey Dillon to make it 7-3 Pats. But Vinatieri missed the XP because of 17 MPH winds. With 0:51 remaining the first half, Tom Brady threw his first touchdown pass to Deion Branch from 2 yards out. He found him in the flat and just let him towards the sideline. That would be it for the first half, 13-3 Pats.

Seattle would kick a field goal early in the 3rd quarter to make it 13-6. But the Patriots would answer on another Deion Branch touchdown reception, this one was a post to the middle and he caught it and ran 66 yards.

Final Score: Patriots 20, Seattle 6.

                  Brady: 16/29, 275 yards, 2 touchdowns, 3 interceptions.

                  Hasselbeck: 15/44, 156 yards, 0 touchdowns, 3 interceptions.

                  Alexander: 12 carries, 36 yards.
                  Dillon: 28 carries, 65 yards, 1 touchdown.

Darrell Jackson: 7 receptions, 79 yards.
Deion Branch: 6 receptions, 122 yards, 2 touchdowns.

Week 7: Patriots vs. NY Jets

Another windy game in Foxboro. It was a low scoring game, somewhat effected by the wind. It took Brady some time to get in a rhythm, as he went 1-6 passing to start the game. But he eventually found a rhythm and led his team to a win.

The first half was fairly simple, NE kicked a field goal in the first quarter, and the Jets kicked one in the second. The half ended 3-3 and it was shaping up to be a great game. New England took the opening kickoff of the second half all the way down to the Jets 9 yard line and Vinatieri got set for the field goal and missed it because of the 16 MPH winds. On the Jets' next possession, Pennington threw an interception that was returned 37 yards by Tyrone Poole, and NE capitalized on the opportunity as Tom Brady found Benjamin Watson on a post to the middle of the endzone, the pass was bobbled, but eventually hauled in for 6. Vinatieri then missed the XP, making it 12-3.

Final Score: Patriots 12, Jets 3.
                    Brady: 14/25, 152 yards, 1 touchdown.
                    Pennington: 14/33, 144 yards, 0 touchdowns, 4 interceptions.

                    Dillon: 22 carries, 123 yards.
                    Martin: 10 carries, 14 yards.

Deion Branch: 5 receptions, 65 yards.
David Givens: 2 receptions, 38 yards.

                    McCareins: 4 receptions, 61 yards.
                    Chrebet: 4 receptions, 41 yards.

                    POTG: Tyrone Poole, 3 tackles, 2 INT's.

                    Injury Report:

Keith Traylor, DT: Fractured arm, 12 weeks, can still play.
Bethel Johnson, WR: Twisted knee, 3 weeks, out.
Jeff Burris, CB: Dislocated shoulder, 1 week, probable.

                      Week 8: Patriots @ Steelers

New England was controlling the game at the end of the first half, the score was 21-6 Pats, because of 3 Tom Brady touchdown passes. One of them was a 75 yarder to Deion Branch. But the second half was all Steelers.

On the Steelers first possession of the second half, Roethlisberger was intercepted by Rodney Harrison in the endzone. But the play right after, Brady was intercepted. The Steelers then drove down to the goalline and Bettis ran it in from a yard out to make it 21-13.

On the next play for the Patriots after the kickoff, Brady was hit and fumbled the ball. Roethlisberger wasted no time, and found Hines Ward for a 29 yard touchdown pass to make it 21-19, and they didn't convert the 2-pt conversion.

The Steelers would take the lead early in the 4th quarter on a 32 yard touchdown reception by Randle El. The Patriots had many opportunities to try and take the lead back, but drop passes and sacks late in the game killed them.

Final Score: Patriots 21, Steelers 26.

                      Brady: 15/28, 249 yards, 3 touchdowns, 2 interceptions.
                      Roethlisberger: 11/32, 212 yards, 2 touchdowns, 3 interceptions.

                      Bettis: 18 rushes, 43 yards, 1 touchdown.
                      Dillon: 16 carries, 29 yards.

                      Ward: 4 receptions, 104 yards, 1 touchdown.
Randle El: 2 receptions, 35 yards, 1 touchdown.
                      Patten: 5 receptions, 76 yards, 2 touchdowns.

Week 9: New England @ St. Louis

Another great game, but NE came out on the losing end again. Brady threw 3 picks, and only one touchdown. Add that with a fumble and you don't have much offense. The Patriots had a hard time stopping Marshall Faulk and Torry Holt. The Patriots were driving when it was 27-13 St. Louis with about 4 minutes left in the half, when Brady let one go across the middle and it was picked off to kill the comeback attempt. I thought it was PI, but no call was made.

Final Score: Patriots 13, Rams 27.

                        Brady: 23/43, 387 yards, 1 touchdown, 3 interceptions.
                        Bulger: 20/31, 239 yards, 1 touchdown.

                        M. Faulk: 22 carries, 92 yards, 2 touchdowns.
                        Dillon: 12 carries, 29 yards.

                        Holt: 13 receptions, 150 yards, 1 touchdown.

                        Brown: 6 receptions, 108 yards.

I forgot to save the game after I won the first time 35-30 so I had to sim it until I won again, this time it was 23-13. Oops.

Final Score: Patriots 23, Buffalo 13.

Week 11: New England @ Kansas City

The Patriots dominated this game that was played on the road in the snow. Corey Dillon was 2 yards short of 200 yards for the day, and eclipsed 9,000 yards for his career. The big quarter for the Pats was the second. NE only scored 3 points in the first, and in the second they came out and scored 28 points to lead 31-0 at half time. Corey Dillon continued to pound the ball in the second half, and the defense continued to dominate.

Final Score: Patriots 51, Kansas City 0.

                              Brady: 19/31, 223 yards, 3 touchdowns.
                              Green: 12/33, 85 yards, 1 int.

                              Dillon: 25 carries, 198 yards, 2 touchdowns.
                              K. Faullk: 7 carries, 48 yards, 1 touchdown.

                              Branch: 7 receptions, 116 yards, 1 touchdown.
                              Fauria: 5 receptions, 51 yards, 1 touchdown.
                              P. Holmes: 5 receptions, 25 yards.
                              T. Gonzalez: 5 receptions, 44 yards.

I'm just trying to get my sliders right. So bear with me if I have some odd games.
