Like Father, Like Son?: The career of Jeffrey Jordan (CH 2K8)

Aight fellas, I'm going to be playing this dynasty from the perspective of MJ's son, Jeffrey Jordan, walk on at Illinois. I'm going to play his college career and then import into the pros.....if he makes it.

When he's in the game, I'm going to player lock. When he's out, I'm going to play it normally. The settings are:

15 min. quarters, Superstar(or whatever that mode is), CPU Subs, Rotations, etc.

    Should be a fun ride!

Still a longshot to make an impact, Jordan turns heads.

Michael's son suprised everybody when he decided to attend Illinois as a walk on; everybody involved thought it would be an uphill battle to get playing time.....but that hasn't necessarily been the case thus far anyway.

"His basketball IQ is amazing", said Illinois assistant Jay Price. "He may not be the best athlete out there, but he is flat out cunning when it comes to scoring the basketball." The 6-1, 185 Jordan was initially set to be compete for a backup point guard slot, but with his slick scoring and solid defense, the coaching staff now envisions him making some noise at the combo guard spot.

"There is a bit of a log jam at point. Meachem, Frazier, McCamey may be all better suited to run a team at this level. But I wouldn't count "Lil' J" out, he can put the ball in the hoop and when he is covered he is excellent at finding the open guy." said Price.

"I don't expect him to make an immediate impact, but he's already surprised me a bit so far."

I'm a diehard Illini fan so I will definitely follow. Jordan has gotten very little PT this year (less than 5 mpg). When I played my dynasty I didn't even use him the 1st year. By his junior year, he was my 2nd guy off the bench but still not much of a scorer.

My question to you is, will you play this realistically and have him sit a lot his freshman year or will you play him a lot to make things more interesting?

Ahh, you took my idea. I was gonna do something with Jordan about 2 weeks ago, before I decided to do Jonny Flynn.

Don't know, I'll see as it goes along. Probaly won't have him sit like he does in real life as I don't think I would keep interests in this dynasty.

You know what would make it that much more authentic...if you went to cpu vs. cpu when you weren't in the game.

I would, but I have a notoriously low attention span lol.

Jordan battles McCamey for 3rd guard spot. "Solid" in scrimmage.

Jeffrey Jordan was unsure whether he would contribute at all this season. Now he finds himself in a battle with fellow freshman PG Demetri McCamey. Both are extremely talented kids, though in different ways.

McCamey is a big guard who have Illini fans reminiscing of Deron Williams with his ability to get to the basket and run the team. Jordan is brings excellent defense with the potential to be a big time scorer. "I don't know how well they stack up with our older guards. They need some game experience.....but the future is bright.", said head coach Bruce Weber.

Jordan had a very solid game in the scrimmage. Starting at the SG spot for the 2nd team, he was second among scorers with 17 points on 6-10 shooting followed by 3 assists. He also held starting PG Chester Frazier to 4 pts on 2-7 shooting. Rodney Alexander led the 2nd team in scoring with 18 pts.

Still, the 1st team won 85-64. Shawn Pruitt was dominant with 16 pts and 7 rebounds and McCamey came off the bench with 12 points and 6 assists.

I simmed the first game, which Illinois won 68-61. Played it 3 times before the disc broke. Jordan had 11 points on 3-6 shooting.

Illinois gains big road win over Hawaii
Jeffery Jordan didn't shoot the ball particularly well but he still managed 8 pts and 3 assists on limited minutes. This includes going 2-4 from three. He was 0-2 from the field. His defense also provided some help the Warriors went 40% from the field.

Shawn Pruitt was the big star of Illinois's 71-56 road victory. He scored 26 points and grabbed 13 boards. There has also been some talk of either Jordan or Demetri McCamey joining Trent Meachem in the starting back court. Chris Frazier is a solid player but both the freshmen bring solid D to the group that Frazier has with more offensive firepower.
