Senators Injury Report

M. Lapointe - Bruised Foot - 1-2 Days

M. Commodore - Bruised Leg - 1-2 Days

A. Volchenkov - Broken Hand - 2-4 Months

Ottawa, Canada. In the Senators 3-1 win yesterday over the Oilers, 3 Ottawa players went down with injuries.

The most sever injury was dealt to thr Senators best defenseman, Anton Volchenkov. He broke his hand while blocking a shot and will now be out from anywhere between 2 and 4 months. Ottawa will miss his physical pressence and tremendous shot blocking ability.

Martin Lapointe was also injured blocking a shot, not on his hand, but his foot. A slapshot from a Edmonton blueliner hit Lapointe's skate and he immediately went down in pain. This injury will keep him from playing tonight in Minnesota.

Commodore was the luckiest on the injured list as he left the game with only a very sore and bruised leg. He was slashed by an Oiler and had to leave the game. Commodore will have to sit this game out as the pain is too much to skate on.

Ottawa will call-up rookie Nick Foligno, the versatile Christoph Schubert, and Lawrence Nycholat to replace the injured players.

Foligno will slide right into the third line with Vermette and Neil, giving the line another scorer, rather than the forechecking ability of Lapointe.

Schubert will play with with Meszaros on the 2nd defensive unit, as Redden moves up to play with Phillips.

Nycholat will take Meszaros' usual spot on the third unit with Richardson.

I made a serious mistake that will end this season. I accidentely placed all my injured played on the injured reserve list and now they can not return to the team. I saved the game as well so I'm going to end this as I don't want to continue a season with guys out for a season that were only supposed to be out for 1 or 2 days. Sorry.
