    A BOISE STATE LEGACY

BOISE STATE ANNOUNCES NEXT HEAD COACH
After a week of interviews the school had narrowed their choice down to someone very familar to many. Coach BJ Dezaron is famous for his days coaching and winning high school state titles not only in Boise but Minnesota and and North Carolina as well. He now returns to Idaho to take on his biggest challenge yet taking over as the next head coach of the Boise State Broncos

Repoter-Coach do you think you are ready for this challege?
Dezaron-To be honest, yes I do. I fell like I couldn't have asked for a better situation. The School is coming off the 1st NCAA appearence in 14 years and even though we lost some amazing talent I feel like we have some nice players returning I am very excited about some of the young talent I have already had a chance to contact as soon as I found out I was the man.
Reporter-When will we know more about this incoming talent??
Dezaron-Hopefully in the next couple weeks. I am currently in the process of finalizing some scholarships and I also am in the process of working with my assistant coaches in getting the 2008-2009 schedule out. Look for the media guides to hit the shelves soon.
Reporter-Well Coach guess I shouldn't keep you here any longer and let you get out there and get things done
Dezaron-Thanks. I promise you will know more. I already scheduled a interview with Caves and Prater on the Ticket for later this month.

        Re: A BOISE STATE LEGACY

Jeff Caves-Welcome to show. Today we are joined by Coach BJ Dezaron the new head coach of your Boise State Broncos.
        Dezaron-Thanks for having me guys.
Prater-Coach lets get right into it. The team is coming off a 23 win 1st round showing at the NCAA but 4 of the 5 starter are gone, how do you see the team doing in year 1 under your guidence?
Dezaron-Well Mike, as you probably already know by taking a look at the media guide, we are starting 4 Freshman with Junior A. Thomas running the point, however that doesn't mean we have to take a step back, in fact the WAC Coaches picked us to finish 1st again this year.
Caves-That brings up another great point. 4 Fresmman starting!!!! I almost think that is unheard of. You have Noonon,Sanchez and Rouse coming back not to mention Gardner and last years transfer I. Okoye. Are you telling me none of these guys deserve the chance to start?
Dezaron-Not at all Jeff. When I came on board I told every that no spot on the team was a lock and as you can see several players didn't make the cut. Mortiz and Cunningham are gone thru a mutal agreement. However after watching these guys in practice and in the midnight madness game I felf our best chance to win was starting these 4 freshman.
Prater-So your son AJ is starting at SF this season, even though he played more at the 4 at Nampa High. Why the switch?
Dezaron-Personally I love AJ ability to hit the big shot and I felt like putting him at the 3 allowed him to take those outside shots more often. Plus his size will create matchup problems for other teams. He won't always be a 3, we can slide him to the 4 when Hope comes into the game.
Caves-Your center 7'1 Guy Isham has ben touted the best player in the WAC. Do you think he will be in Boise all 4 years?
Dezaron-I would hope so but no I don't think he will. I personally think he would've gone in the 2nd round right out of high school, if he has a great 1st year then he could improve his stock enough to go 1st round. Personally I see him sticking around 2 years.
Prater-This year you only have 2 Scholarships to offer. Have you set your sights on anyone or a certain Pos?
Dezaron-Well Mike obviously from the last comment about Isham only staying 1 to 2 years I would stay I am definetly looking at a Center. Also Gardner is a senior and really my only true PG to backup Thomas, so I will also look at some PG this year. However this years Mr BB from Idaho Capital High's Sky Rasmussen who as you know is another 6'8 PF/SF. I would love to see him in a Bronco Uniform, but we are going to have some stiff competition from WSU and Gonzaga, not to mention both Oregon State and Oregon. Should make for a interesting year of recruiting.
Caves-Well we are out of time today. But please join us every day on Idaho Sports Talk. We will have Coach Dezaron as our guest every other Monday to talk about how the season is progressing. Please feel free to email any questions you have for the Coach.

For those wondering I am currently posting this Legacy on 2k sports forum, however I thought it would be nice to put it here also for those who don't go there. Also I can access this site at work and my IT guy has banned 2k. Guess I spent to much time on it this winter

BOISE STATE HITS 10/21 3PT TO HELP LEAD THEM TO VICTORY
Both teams came prepared to play in the 1st half as they traded baskets back and forth. BSU would take a 35-33 lead into the half but it was the 2nd half shooting of P. Noonon 12 pts on 4/4 3pt shooting that lead the Broncos to a 79-68 victory

BRONCOS AND HUSKIES BATTLE INTO OT.
Both teams entered the game with a perfect 3-0 record however the #22 ranked Huskies had the most to lose. Not only their spot in the Top 25 but also a loss on their home court. This motivation would carry them to a 44-35 lead in the 1st half. However in the 2nd half the Broncos came out firing. RS Jr. Paul Noonon led the way hitting back to back 3's cutting the lead to 3. Both teams would continue to trade baskets back and forth and with 2 mins to play the Huskies had built a 8 pt lead. It looked the game was over, however the Broncos never gave up. With most of the starters in foul trouble Coach Dezaron gave the bench plenty of minutes and plenty of chances to prove that they too could be difference makers on this team. Noonon continued to show no fear hitting 3 more huge 3's including one with 4 seconds left in the game to the game into overtime. Score at the end of regulation 91-91. In the overtime period Fr. D. Boythe took control of the game scoring 14 of his team high 26 pts. He also led the team in rebounding with 11. Washington's Sr SG J. Smith tried to keep this team in it hitting 2 more big 3's to finish with a game high 35 pts on 5/9 3pt shootng but in the end the Huskies were forced to foul giving the Broncos a bigger defeat in the stats then what it really was. Final Score 114-109

Sellout crowds show up to watch this young Bronco team continue to play some amazing basketball. In Game 1 of the Big Sky double header on Wed, the Broncos took on a (0-6) Northern Colorado team looking for their 1st win of the season. However the Bears would be forced to wait as the Broncos took a commanding 48-32 lead into the half and continued that play defeating the Bears in a Final Score of 97-60
