    Houston Nutt Leaves Arkansas
    Accepts Ole Miss Job

Fayetteville, AR - Frank Broyles receives the phone call that he never wanted to receive from Houston Nutt. Coach Nutt infomed Broyles that he has accepted the job at Ole Miss and does not plan on returning to Arkansas to get anything. Broyles then informed that if Nutt doesn't change his mind that he will owe Arkansas $2.1 Million dollars due to his contract that wasn't due to expire until 2010. If he broke the contract he would have to give back to Arkansas to pay for his Coaching Salary. Broyles is now placed in a hard position as he would either have to find a head coach or let the new A.D. find one. If Broyles cannot find one by July 3rd, 2007 then he will have no other choice but to hand the problem to the new A.D. We will update you on this with information as it is released.

      Frank Broyles Retires
      No Head Coach Yet!

Fayetteville, AR - Well the day has come, Frank Broyles officially retired. He did not find a new head coach for the Razorbacks so it is up to the new Athletic Director, Jeff Long, to fill that spot with a coach that he can find. Below is a possible list of choices that Jeff Long is considering to try:

      Bill Parcell
      Jimmy Johnson
      Bobby Petrino
      Bill Cowher

Jeff Long informed us that he starts his hunt next week and he promises that there will be a new head coach in the upcoming weeks. If there is no new coach then he will take the team over himself. More news will be reported as it is released!

        Long Keeps Promise
        Petrino Becomes New Head Coach

Fayetteville, AR - Jeff Long said he promised to have a new head coach and he kept it. He hired Bobby Petrino as the new Head Coach only 1 week after Broyles retired. We got to speak to Petrino before he held the Press Conference that would officially declare him the new Head Coach. He told us that Arkansas would be a changed team, they are ranked 10th in the Nation but that is not good enough for Petrino. He plans on giving the Razorbacks a challenging Schedule. He wants to push the Razorbacks to their very best and if they lose then they lose. Petrino is not worried about the National Championship right now, he is only worried about changing this team to a Goal Chasing team. Schedules will be released in a couple of weeks then Post-Spring Depth Charts will be released 2 weeks after Schedules.

              Petrino Confident About Sooner Game

Fayetteville, AR - Coach Petrino held the final practice before traveling to Norman, Oklahoma for their season opener against the Oklahoma Sooners. Coach Petrino told us that he has seen alot of improvement in the guys after watching film from last year's season. Coach Petrino also told us to expect many different players getting on the field. McFadden, Jones, Emert, Irwin will all get playing time. He is not this depth chart coach, he plays the whole team. We will see how the Razorbacks really did in Spring Practice when they take on the #8 Oklahoma Sooners in Norman.
