    Formula S (NR2003)

    COMING SOON

Putting a complete 360 spin on NASCAR

Disclaimer: I am usually busy because of work so this may not be started up till next weekend, but I will try to reveal some information later to you guys, on how I'm going to do this. I have the base idea, I'm just finishing some testing and smoothing out all the details

    Re: Formula S (NR2003)

So I have been doing alot of thinking at work when I bored, about this and it was going to be boring for me and probably for the reader too so I decided to make it a little more interesting. So here is what I have done.

    Reader Interaction
How am I going to do this you might ask? Well I'm going to make you guys the focus of this simulation. You guys will be the drivers and the Team Owners, which brings me to a long explaination of how I'm going to do this.

I'm planning on doing this racing series like an F1 racing series except we are going to be racing the NASCAR COT. There is going to be a 10 race schedule, all North American road courses. I'm going to try to get as many drivers as possible so if somehow we have 60 drivers we are going to have 3 series each with 20 drivers and all running similar rules, except with different cars, For example top series will be COT, next will be the Nationwide cars, and then the next will be a muscle car mod I found. Now if we have 25 drivers for the first season then I will probably just use all 25. And if this runs for multiple seasons with multiple series then I will drop the bottom 5 to the next series and add the top 5 to the next series, if you get what I'm saying so lets start with how I'm going to break this down.

Pre-Season: This will be right before I start the races, It will basically be a week of nothing-ness where drivers and teams can be all sorted out. For example number changes and new drivers on teams.

Season: I will do one race each week, most likely on a Sunday, or if we have multiple series I will do the less presigious series on Saturday and the Top Series on Sunday. Progression will happen (Will be explained later) so its not just randomness when it comes to winning the races.

Offseason: Here is where I will allow progression. It will be a limited amount of progression so things stay a little bit close but I will have options for progression. For example you can race in a a sprint cup race with the real guys, and I will sub you in for a bad driver like Kyle Petty, or you can do testing a track, or you can work on your Pit crew or your car.

Now you might be asking how I can do all this and make it a career mode? Well its because NR2003 has ratings, much like the ones in NASCAR 09 but there are more ratings. The ratings are as follows (Bold ratings will be the ones used in my series)

    Driver Ratings
    Aggression
    Consistencey
    Finishing
    Qualifying
    Road Courses

    Short Tracks
    Speedways
    Superspeedways

    Vehicle Ratings
    Aerodynamics
    Chassis
    Engine
    Realiability

    Pit Crew
    Consistencey
    Speed
    Strategy

Now everyone's ratings will start at 50 for everything and as we continue up the ladder then you will improve, but don't expect to be all 100's unless we do many seasons of these (which I hope we do). There will be many options of what we can do and it will all be reavealed as we progress.

Now for the series rules, we are going by F1 points and rules. So bascially the practice session will be a 20 minute qualifying session and the top 15 will stay for qualifying. Which they will qualify in the real qualifying session and then we will go straight to race.

Well thats about all I can think of to tell you guys right now I'm going to post the sign-up sheet below this post and you guys can post any suggestions in this thread that you like.
And for the first season we will be using default Cup cars from the 2008 season with 2 man teams. So tell me that in your PM.

Remember you guys can form a 2 man team, if you are running a single car team let me know, and if you are running a team let me know if you have a teammate already or if you are looking for one.

Just because someone asked, you do not need NR2003, I do all the setup and the simulation of the races.
