MLB 2008 RTTS: Joe Brizuela a short stops journey

Ok here is the story of a short stop named Joe Brizuela. He is 19 years old and just graduated high school from Garland high chaool in Garland Texas. Joe is roughly 6'2 215 LBS and was an all american coming out of high school. He had all the tools and all the maturity to be successful at the major league level. Joe signed with the Tampa Bay Rays. The following story is an account for his his journey through the eyes of matt vasgersian. Stay tuned for all the uos and downs of joe as he progresses through spring training and all the way through his career in the major's. Fell free to interject throught the story as to I am brizuela agent through the whole ordeal.

    Matt Vasgersian Chronicles:

throughout the spring training I have witnessed Joe Brizuela as the future of the Tampa Bay Rays at SS. I have to say as a physical speciamen he reminds of a an AROD tyoe player. At 6'2 215 LBS he resembles the body build and the strength to be a major league power house. During the spring training regime, I noticed that Brizuela early on had some issues adjusting to major league ball. However; after the 5th game, I noticed that he was absolutley lights out! Leading the Rays throughout the spring with a .347 Batting average with 1 homerun, 10 SB and approx. 24 RBI's all the while hitting from the 9th hole is phenominal. Brizuela has shown all the tools and the grit to be a perinial all stare at the next level. Which this also brigs me to the next managment concern. Why oh why is he the backup SS for the AA biscuits for the team? He clearly is the future of this franchise and yet I feel he is getting the shaft? I mean take for instance the pinch hitting role he took in where he lead the comeback a run down and eventual won the game for the biscuits against the lookouts was a clear sign that he needs to start but for whatever reason the manager says no. I dont foresee this to be an issue any longer however because it looks to be that Brizuela is leaidn the team from all angles and sooner rather than later the manager will have no choice but to put in the phenom.
