It was time for the second round pick of the Penguins. As Lemieux Crosby and The Penguins Staff took the stage i preyed it wouldn’t be me. Lemieux walked up and started to announce.
"With the Second overall pick we would like to select" as he said that he backed away and Crosby stepped up.
"Jason Skyland of the OHL London Knights!"
I looked at Jason and said Congratulations and he gave me and nick to high fives and walked to the stage.
I was happy for him but I was energetically waiting for my turn it was time for the Kings pick 3^rd overall Dean Lombardi took the stage with the Kings staff and Anze Kopitar. Kopitar stepped to the microphone.
“With our 3^rd overall pick we would like to select Drew Doughty of the OHL’s Guelph Storm! With our 4^th overall pick we would like to pick Nick Barry of WHL's Kelowna Rockets!"
“Nick sweet do the Monarchs proud!” with that I gave him a high five and he ran to the stage. Seeing four people excluding me don jerseys made me sad but I had a chance as it was the Canucks turn to draft two. As Alain Vigneault Mike Gillis and Markus Naslund took the stage i looked for ryan and couldn’t see him I should have known as Naslund took the stage to thank the Sens for their hospitality and then Ryan popped up from under the stage ran up and announced my dream moment.
“The Vancouver Canucks are proud to Select 5^th overall my brother Jeff Shannon of the WHL Vancouver Giants!”
I jumped up in surprise at hearing Ryan say my name hugged my mom and dad and gave Nick and Jason high fives and flashed an evil look at Jerktok and ran to the stage shook hands with the staff hugged Ryan and put on that stylish blue and green jersey. And Nauslund took his place at the podium to announce the 6^th pick.
“With the 6^th overall pick we would like to select Cody Hodgson of the OHL’s Brampton Battalion."
When Hodgson arrived I gave him a Handshake and a hug as we were once again Temmates as we were for Team Canada U18

As i exited the arena after the draft my girlfriend Annabel ran up behind me spun me around and kissed me. I was utterly stunned she was the last person i expected to see as she lives back in Vancouver.
"Annabel what are you doing here."
"I flew in to surprise you i sat 15 rows behind you through the whole draft and snuck out before you saw me."
"Wow unexpected but amazingly sweet hey me nick and Jason are going to celebrate at a party there both bringing their girls do you wanna come?"
"Course you know how much i love parties."
"Alright its 10 blocks that way at 6126 which i find weird that its nicks number then mine but thats were it is."
"Sweat cant wait."
"Annabel you can never wait for a party"
"It'll be awesome to see you there."
"Annabel you'll like Danielle she's Jason's girl."
"Sweet I'm excitmmm..."
10 minutes later Last call to re enter the arena for picks 20-30
"Well Annabel we gotta go there's a spare seat beside me why don't ya sit beside me?"
"Sure"
"Um Mr.Shannon can we get an interview with you and Ryan?"
"Sure see you later Annabel."
"Bye."

"Jeff Ryan what's it like knowing you're gonna be on the same team?"
"Well it could be good but I'm an RFA this year so i could get moved."

"since 10th grade i had a crush on her in halfway through grade 6 all the way through to 10 then i got the courage to ask her out and were a serious couple."

"The weirdest thing is she was the most popular and smartest girl and school and i was only mediocre until my hockey skills developed and i worked harder and my average turned into an A and i went to hockey school."

"Not at all ill get better he'll get better and we will be a good team i cant wait to find out what they expect from him."

I walked in looking for Nick or Jason because they wanted me here early. I decided to look upstairs since no one was on the ground area. I checked the first room empty i was stunned Danielle and Nicks cars were out side and there were only 2 rooms left. I opened the second door to find Danielle and Jason making out.
"ok then."
"what"
I shut the door. In the final room i find Nick and a girl making out but Nick had no shirt on.
"Who would this be Nick?"
"Jessica now go away."
I pulled out my Razr and phoned Annabel.
"Hello?"
"Hey can you come now?"
"Sure why?"
"I wanna introduce you and im already here so."
"Alright love you"
"Love you to girl."

By this time Nick Jessica Jason and Danielle had stopped making out.
"Why did you want me?"
"Nick and Jessica and Jason and Danielle were making out and i was bored"

"And i would like to introduce you to Nick's girlfriend Jessica."
"Hi."
"Im sorry we had to delay the party a week but we got called to meetings with our team so..."

"Hello Jeff Shannon."
"Hello Jeff its Mike Gillis. Your agent Hunter Watson and I felt it best that i give you the news."
"What news have i been traded?"
"No no you've been signed to a 3 year entry level contract worth 875,000."
"Can I get a 1 year deal?"
"Sure 1 year worth $875,000 is it a deal?
"Of course Mr.Gillis i cant wait for training camp."
"You are aloud to show up for camp but we will put you on the Moose's 3rd line but you will be evaluated every 5 games and moved up or down in our roster based on performance. See you soon and have fun in Colorado."

I entered the plane and checked my ticket i was in seat 22. It turned out to be the worst seats possible between Jektok and Filitov. I took a last look at the ticket i was holding it upside down.
I was not beside Jerktok but between Nick and Jason but Nick got the window.
"Jeff this is lucky your beside us."
"Ya guess what my seat would have been if i read it upside down?"
"I cant."
"Between Jerktok and Fillitov."
"Damn that woulda sucked."
"Please take your seat as liftoff is in 3 minutes."

The game was great Me Jason and Steven really clicked it turns ut i can make some sweet dishes. Nick was hitting harder than ever and im now wishing i were in the east. It turned out i can play defensive as well as i laid out Jerktok and blocked 3 shots. Summary:
Period 1:
0:15 Jason Skyland (Shannon Stamkos)
Stamkos won the foceoff to me i break in slap pass to Jason who finishes with a nice wrister.

5:00 Shannon (Barry Doughty) SH
Nick blocks a shot that roles to Doughty who passes to Nick before Jerktok hits him nick fires it to me before i change i sprint in fake a slaper and wrist top shelf.

10:57 Stamkos (Shannon Skyland)
Jason and I do a give and go as i fire it to Stamkos who puts it behind his legs and roofs it.

Period 2:
3:37 Boedker (Boychuk Teubert)
Boychuk centers on a 2 on 1 and Boedker finishes.

Period 3:
1:11 Fillitov (Schenn)
Schenn springs Fillitov on a breakaway and Fillitov makes no mistake.

4:17 VanRiemsdyk
Vanny makes no mistake as he intercepts in the slot and wrists it blocker side.

19:50 Barry (Shannon Stamkos)
Barry hops on for skyland when i received a pass from Stamkos as we blast in on a 2 on 1 as i center and nick finishes it of with a wicked hard slapper to win the game."
