      Week 1 Pregame : UTEP (0-0) @ Buffalo (0-0)

UTEP has won three consecutive season openers. Miners have never won four openers in a row. With 18 returning starters off a 5-7 team, Buffalo has a realistic shot to earn its first-ever bowl berth.

      Key Matchup
      ------------------------------------------------
Buffalo QB Drew Willy (2,572 yards, 15 TDs) completed 68.4 percent of his passes last season. UTEP's pass defense allowed over 300 yards per game in the air. The Miners, who allowed over 37 points per game, debut a new 3-3-5 defense.

      Players to Watch
      ---------------------------------------------------

UTEP: QB Trevor Vittatoe (3,101 yards passing, 25 TDs) was second in the Football Bowl Subdivision in passing yards by a freshman—finishing behind Oklahoma's Sam Bradford.

Buffalo: RB James Starks rushed for 1,103 yards and 12 TDs last season. Starks picked it up in the second half, gaining 723 yards his final six games.

        Bulls sneaks past Miners
Thyclems not happy with the current sliders!

        Reflection

Lincoln, AR (AP) -- Thyclems thought the current sliders would be the ones he was looking for. After playing the UTEP game he just does not seem happy with them. It was a great game to watch, but as in playing it, it just felt bad!

"It felt realistic, but when you look at the statistics it tells a different story." Thyclems commented after his game with UTEP. "My Quarterback only completed 8 or 9 passes out of 30 I think. I will make adjustments and hopefully I will come to the perfect sliders!"

Thyclems says he will have them perfected before the Pittsburgh game, we will see if he holds true to his word!

        Game Recap

Buffalo, NY (AP) -- Buffalo came in as the underdogs and left as the victors. A.J. Principe would be the hero of the game as he kicked two long field goals back to back that would seal the victory for the bulls. UTEP's three consecutive season opening win streak has ended in Buffalo. The Bulls would walk away with a 13-10 victory over the UTEP miners.

The Buffalo passing game was ugly, Drew Willy only completed 7 out of 24 passes and gained 119 yards. "I feel really dumb, I should have played better. I guess my head wasn't in the game." Stated Drew after the UTEP game. Drew only threw one interception. However on the UTEP side, Trevor Vittatoe completed 24 out of 45 passes and gained 236 yards. Vittatoe also threw only one interception. "Their defense was really good all night, I was suprised at the pressure that was coming at me. I hope the pressure continues so our offensive line can practice on defending against it."

The rushing game was better for Buffalo. James Starks attempted the rush 19 times and gained 121 yards, he rushed for one touchdown. On UTEP's side, Vittatoe attempted the rush 6 times and gained 35 yards and, Terrell Jackson attempted the rush 6 times and gained 33 yards, he rushed for one touchdown.

However in the end it was Principe that did all the work. In the 3rd Quarter, UTEP was up 10-7 and it was 4th and 13. It would be a 57 yard field goal attempt, Principe missed one from 51 earlier in the game. Thyclems decided to go for the field goal as the wind was in favor for him unlike earlier when Principe missed it. The snap was good, the kick was good, and Buffalo tied the game up 10-10. Then with 2:13 left in the game, Principe got called again on a 4th down to attempt a 46 yard field goal, it was also good giving Buffalo the 13-10 lead.

UTEP get two tries at getting back in the game but was picked off the first time and ran out of time on the last attempt. Congratulations to Buffalo on their season opening win at home!

Buffalo has lost the last 3 games they have played against Pittsburgh. Buffalo's offense still isn't playing the way the need to be!

            Key Matchup
            ------------------------------------------------
Buffalo RB James Starks is expected to run well as Pitt is not real good at defending the run. That is other teams usually get good yardage off the run from Pitt. Be looking for Starks to run all over Pitt.

            Players to Watch
            ---------------------------------------------------

PITT: QB Pat Bostick is the man to watch as he will be a threat against the weak Buffalo defense, who gave up 10 points against UTEP in their 13-10 victory!

Buffalo: RB James Starks is the man to watch again. Since Drew Willy didn't peform the way he wanted, Starks gets the spot light once again!

                Bulls Rally!
Sliders are now where they are supposed to be!

                Reflection

Lincoln, AR (AP) -- After numerous adjustments, Thyclems decided to go with the final adjustments and play the Pitt game. It turned out to be a great game. Thyclems hopes he will not have to modify these sliders anymore!

                Game Recap

Pittsburgh, PA (AP) -- This football game got ugly before the 1st Quarter was even over. Pittsburgh scored twice, Drew Willy got inured, and the wind was blowing like crazy. It wasn't so bad in the 2nd Quarter as we got to see what Ed Young was capable of, we got to talk to Coach Gill during the Post-Game Press Conference.

"Drew Willy left the game due to a hip pointer, we do not know the extent of his injury, we also don't know if he will be ready for next week's game against Temple. So as a precaution we have already named Ed Young as the starter for the Temple game." Coach stated after the game. Coach Gill also commented on tonights peformance. "I think we did good at times and then I thought we sucked at other times. Our passing game was horrible again until Ed came in. Our rushing game was on top of everything. Someone commented that Ed should be a running back instead of a quarter back. Well he can throw whenever we are not having a bad day. Watch for his arm against Temple!"

Ed Young finished the game with 7-13, 144 Yds, and a touchdown. He also attempted the rush 11 times with 169 yards with 2 touchdowns. I can't wait to see this young man go up against Temple's strong defense.

This game was good in the end as Buffalo rallied back and defeated the Pittsburgh Panthers 31-28.

                    Week 3 Pregame : Temple (0-2) @ Buffalo (2-0)

Temple has not defeated Buffalo since 1970. Can Temple find that flame they have been searching and upset the Bulls? Or will Ed Young and James Starks just dominate Temple's defense and come away with a blowout? We will find out on September 13th.

                    Team Preview
                    ---------------------------------------------------

Temple: They have done great so far even though they are 0-2. The only thing wrong is their defense and the running game. Adam Dimichele has done great all year long and will continue to do great. However, Joe Jones needs to step up and get that running game going. Seeing how Buffalo's defense is great against the pass, if they can't run then they won't score!

Buffalo: With Drew Willy being benched for this game with a hip pointer, Ed Young will be the one to take snaps. He did great against Pittsburgh by passing and running. With James Starks at running back, these two guys might be the knife in the heart to Temple. We will see if Temple's defense can stop the dynamic duo.

                      Game Recap

Buffalo, NY (AP) -- Buffalo did much better this week than they did against Pittsburgh. Ed Young came out and just had a huge day along with James Starks. However Temple did open the game up with a 14-0 lead, but from there Buffalo just worked around it and ended up winning the game 49-35. We got comments from player from Buffalo.

                      - "I think we played a great game, I didn't see anything wrong with our offense. There are still some things that needs to be fixed before we head to MIssouri, which will be a very tough game for us. If we can atleast keep it close then that will make me happy" - Coach Gill (Buffalo Bulls)

                      - "I didn't pass very well tonight, I threw 3 interceptions which shouldn't happen. I ran the ball well, but I need to worry about throwing instead of running." - Ed Young (Buffalo Bulls)

                      - "I think we did great offensively, I ran the ball numerous times and most of the time it ended up with a positive result. I did pass it once in the game and it was to Ed Young which ended up being a 25 yard completion. I feel real good about our game tonight, now next week when we play Missouri, I just hope we can hold them off." - James Starks (Buffalo Bulls)

                      - "I felt like I could have played the game, but Coach didn't want to take any risks and kept me off the field. I did go in in the 4th Quarter just to attempt one pass, and it ended up being a interception. So I benched myself and Ed went out and finished the game. I hope to start the game against Missouri next week, but I won't know until Tuesday." - Drew Willy (Buffalo Bulls)

The Buffalo Bulls travels to Columbia to take on the Missouri Tigers who happens to be in the AP Top 25. Anyways congratulations to the Buffalo Bulls on their earned win!
