"Lets Make Some Noise and Triumph"

    |
An Oklahoma City Thunder and Los Angeles Lakers Franchise

    Video Game: NBA 2K9 (PS3)
Team Rosters: Updated (Manually...Best To My Ability)
Game Sliders: REALISTIC 12 Mins HOF tjnigs SLIDERS
    Games: 82
    Playoff Format: 7-7-7-7
    ---------------
"This will be my first franchise or should I say franchises
on NBA 2K9. I plan on going a full season and hopefully more
with these two teams. I decided to choose these two teams because
they are so different from eachother. One is looking for a
championship and another is looking to at least get a
better overall record from last year.
Greatness is in the future for both."

Re: "Lets Make Some Noise and Triumph"

08-09 Season: Projected Eastern Conference Records

    Atlantic Division:
    Boston Celtics (47-35)
    Philadelphia 76ers (45-37)
    New York Knicks (44-38)
    Toronto Raptors (29-53)
    New Jersey Nets (28-54)

Breakdown: Boston Celtics should be able to win the Atlantic Division easily. Philadelphia's addition of Elton Brand should not affect them, but should definitely have an effect on the bottom three teams. Raptors should feel it most as I predict them not making the 08-09 playoffs even with O'Neal at center.

    Central Division:
    Detroit Pistons (51-31)
    Cleveland Cavaliers (46-36)
    Chicago Bulls (39-43)
    Indiana Pacers (38-44)
    Milwaukee Bucks (37-45)

Breakdown: The Central Division title should be up for grabs between Detroit and Cleveland again for the 08-09 season. Not much has changed on the Detroit roster except the production some of their role players may give them and Cleveland landed a star point guard in Mo Williams. We give the nod to Detroit all in all. Derrick Rose will also look to live up to his expectations and land an 8th seed for the Chicago Bulls.

    Southeast Division:
    Orlando Magic (50-32)
    Atlanta Hawks (46-36)
    Miami Heat (43-39)
    Charlotte Bobcats (42-40)
    Washington Wizards (28-54)

Breakdown: The Southeast should go to the Magic with ease. The only thing we can see happening to prevent that are injuries. Hedo, Howard and Lewis must all stay healthy. Michael Beasley will look to get the Heat burning up again with the help of Wade and company. They'll be competing for a 7th-8th seed. The biggest blow of the season will go to the Wizards. Yes, the Wizards. As every team got better in their own way (even the Bobcats). We don't even see them contending.

08-09 Season: Projected Western Conference Records

    Southwest Division:
    San Antonio Spurs (56-26)
    Houston Rockets (53-29)
    New Orleans Hornets (44-38)
    Dallas Mavericks (44-38)
    Memphis Grizzlies (26-56)

Breakdown: Southwest Division. Possibly the most difficult in the west and with addition of Artest at SF for the Rockets, it didn't get any easier. Only team that will not contend are the Grizzlies, but they have the future it seems in Conley, Mayo and Gay. We can see the Hornets and Spurs switching records, but Spurs have won championship every two years since 2003 and the last time we check...it was about that time again.

    Northwest Division:
    Utah Jazz (56-26)
    Denver Nuggets (39-43)
    Portland Blazers (39-43)
    Minnesota T'Wolves (28-54)
    Oklahoma City Thunder (22-60)

Breakdown: The Utah Jazz should dominate their division, as they’re really no major threats within. Nuggets and Blazers come close, but one still doesn't have the piece and one is just too young. They may compete for an 8th seed, but we don't see it happening due to the western conference being just too strong.

    Pacific Division:
    Los Angeles Lakers (51-31)
    Los Angeles Clippers (47-35)
    Phoenix Suns (46-36)
    Golden State Warriors (37-45)
    Sacramento Kings (28-54)

Breakdown: The Pacific Division should be all Los Angeles. Lakers and Clippers should control most of it. Phoenix Suns do have the talent to compete, but we find it highly unlikely. Not with Kobe running the show and now with Bynum in the post or with Davis at the point and Camby on defense. Golden State Warriors take another hard blow for another season as we predict that no one...NO ONE runs the point like Baron Davis. Nelson and the Warriors will learn that soon enough.

08-09 NBA Season: Tip Off Headlines

A Ring. A Cover. Still Hungry?

Boston Celtics, Kevin Garnett, pounds his chest in the NBA Finals

After bringing in stars like Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen to help Paul Pierce and the Boston Celtics, nothing was on mind except an NBA Championship. They did it after going 66-16 in the regular season and beating the Los Angeles Lakers for the organizations 17th NBA Championship. But, the question this year is not if they’ll be ready to retain, but are they still hungry for it? “We’re still hungry man. Don’t let the NBA 2K9 cover fool you. I’m here still with my boys and we’re making up for the times we went far and never got one. This ring won’t be our last together,” Kevin Garnett stated. Back-to-back is not easy, but with a star-caliber team anything is possible.

            Spurs Going “Over the Hill”

Gregg Popovich denies that the Spurs are done and will let 08-09 season prove it

It hard to count an experienced team who has been one of the most dominating teams in all sports when it comes to winning and championships, for the past years. But, we can all see that the Spurs are aging and aging fast. How many more times can they count on Timmy to hit a three pointer to send the game into overtime? Or Parker to keep up with Paul? Or Ginobili to bounce off Shaq for the game winning layup? Not many is the correct answer. Gregg Popovich was heated when asked if they we’re done. Stating, “How can you do this to my boys? After all that we’ve done? For the league and you do this? Here is one thing you want to think about. We’re a team. Not a one man show and we have the experience and heart to take out any team in the league and will prove it to you fu**ers.” Experience or no experience. We don’t see them going as far as they been in past as many teams in the West got better.

            A Thing of the Past

From last year’s playoffs: Kobe vs Bowen and LeBron vs the Washington Wizards

One can only imagine how it must feel to go so far and comeback empty handed. We surely know that Bryant would give up his MVP title to have a ring without the help of O’Neal. And we’re pretty sure LeBron would give up all his records to have one also. But, all they can do is look towards the future now and somehow take the Boston Celtics off their high horses. But, how hard is it to not look back and be bitter about it? So hard that neither Kobe nor LeBron wanted to make a statement when asked about it during the Olympics. Revenge is bitter, but winning is so sweet.

            Rose, Beasley and Oden…Oh My!

Derrick Rose going up against Beasley and Oden getting easy layup in preseason

The #1 draft pick, Rose and #2 draft pick, Beasley, will both look to make instant splashes in the NBA for their new teams. Splashes in which the Chicago Bulls and the Miami Heat both needed dearly. Both have been playing horrible not to mention being struck with injuries. Rose is projected to be a starter as Ben Gordon and the Bulls Organization have not been on the best of terms lately and Beasley will be a starter hands down and will look to help Wade get the Heat burning up again. As for last years #1 draft pick, Greg Oden, will look to finally make his NBA debut with the young and talented Portland Blazers. He will help them out by now giving them another option in the post. Oden is favorited to win the 08-09 Rookie of the Year, but anything is possible with O.J. Mayo at the 2 for the rebuilding Memphis Grizzlies.

Depth of Lakers Hold off Blazers Come Back

Bryant led L.A. with 28 in first win of the season

LOS ANGELES (AP) - So much hype and energy ran throughout the Staples Center.
As they gave the full house just what they wanted. A win. The game looked to be out of
reach early on, but the Blazers weren't going down that easy outscoring LA in the
3rd and 4th quarters. But, their run was made too late as Los Angeles got their
first win of the season. Los Angeles' bench outscored Portlands by 14 points. Vujacic
led them with 10 and Kobe Bryant led the team with 28 points.
