    Jamar Turner: Road To Redemption

    Game: NCAA Football 2009 / Madden 2009
    Platform: 360
Sliders: Not too sure yet. I'll adjust as I go.
Rosters: Generated. Now wait... there is a reason. This story is going to start in 2003. This is going to allow Jamar to enter the NFL (Madden) in 2008. So yeah, fake players are needed lol. I will use some key names (Chad Henne, Darren McFadden, etc.) Obviously they will be in the same class as Jamar though. A little confusing... it will make more sense when I get it started lol. This should be fun. Hope you all enjoy it.

    Redemption. That's all I want.

Tomorrow night starts the playoffs. This is it. My senior year. Colleges all over the nation watching me. I refuse to let it end the same way as last year. I let me team down. The game in my hands, and I got selfish.

There were two minutes left in the Pennsylvania state championship. We were up 21-20 with the ball on our Wilson's 40 yard line. 3rd and 3. With a first down the game was over. The call was Iso 220 pitch. My line hit their blocks perfect. Not a hand on me for 5 yards. I should have taken a dive. I don't know where the hit came from, but the ball came out. A dog fight for the ball... and they got it. All because I was selfish. I was thinking touchdown when I didn't have to.

Maybe you have heard of Wilson's quarterback, his name is Chad Henne. The kid is ridiculous. He's already received a scholarship to go to Michigan. I've never seen anybody as composed as him. He led the Bulldogs down the field with ease. They kicked a field goal with 20 seconds left in the game.

That's how I lost us the state championship.

I'm one of the top running backs in the nation. And I'm going to prove it.

    Redemption. I will achieve it.

I'm Jamar Turner. This is my story.

      One Step Closer

I wanted to break records. I wanted to score a hundred touchdowns. But most importantly, I just wanted to win.

“Iso 224, splash twins on two” Cory Redding gave us all that same blank stare. The one we had looked at all season. The guy is so emotionless. Which at times can be nice, but damn give us some motivation every once in awhile.

The play was a dive play, between the center and right tackle. It was late in the third quarter. We were up 21-10 on Bishop McDevitt, and I was looking to close the game out. It was a cold wet night. I just wanted to huddle up on the sidelines.

We lined up and I quickly read the defense. It's one of my best attributes. I know what the defense is doing before the play ever starts. I saw the right side linebacker shift behind the end. He was blitzing. Perfect.

      “Hut, hut!”

Redding snapped that ball into my gut hard. I was right, the linebacker took off around the end and the hole opened up. The middle linebacker closed in quickly. Terry, our fullback, picked him up and it was off to the races. I embarrassed the strong safety with a double step and walked into the endzone. 32 yards. My best run of the night.

Well, I didn't succeed at breaking records, but it doesn't matter. We trashed McDevitt 35-10. I scored 3 of our touchdowns and ended with 153 yards rushing and 43 receiving. Nothing fantastic, but it was enough to win. I needed to improve though. Especially if I wanted to play at a big name school.

I didn't stay out too long to talk with many of the scouts after the game. I was cold. I just wanted to go home and sleep. Then prepare for next week. I didn't care about anything but the next game. Football is my life. It's not like I have much else to live for.

I lost my mom earlier this year. She died in a car accident on her way home from work. It's just unfair how the world works. She did everything for our family. She supported three kids on her own. She tried so damn hard. There was no reason for her to go. None.

My dad, well, he left when I was young. I hear from him every now and then. I don't care enough to stay in contact with him though. Why should I?

So now I'm in my room at my aunt and uncles. They told me they would take me in until I go to college.

It's getting late. I off for the night. Later.
