    Devil Rays Win 6-3

    April 3rd, 2003
    Associated Press

Tampa, FL - The Tampa Bay Devil Rays improved to 3-1 in 2003 with a 6-3 win over the Boston Red Sox. David Justice got things started in the bottom half of the first when he connected for his first homerun of the season, a 2run shot. This was a sign of things to come for the D-Rays.

Boston narrowed the gap to 2-1 in the Top of the 2nd when Ramirez hit a monster shot to center. Ben Grieve answered in the bottom half of the innings however and the Rays led 3-1.

Ken Griffey Jr. hit a solo shot in the bottom of the third, but David Ortiz answered. 4-2 Devil Rays. Griffey Jr. wasn't done however...as he launched a 2-run shot in the bottom of the 4th.

The Red Sox threatened in the 9th, but only managed 1 run and John Rocker came in with the bases loaded, 2 outs and struck out Manny Ramirez for his first save of the year.

    BOS 2 11 2
    TAM 6 9 1

    WP: Harper (1-0)
LP: Fossum (0-1) <---he got rocked!
    SV: Rocker (1)

    Homeruns:

Player of the Game: Ken Griffey Jr. 4-4, 2 HR, 3 RBI

I am going to create Rocco Baldelli in a few minutes...being that I am a big Mariners fan I didn't really know much about Baldelli and I am planning on doing some research and then creating him to back up my outfielders...anyhow, if you want I'll post my ratings that I gave him.
