Drew Neitzel's Last Chance MSU Chise (CH 2k8)

    Michigan State Spartians
What happens when you mix a young team with a SR PG? Well you get the Spartans. Drew Neitzal senior point guard has been starting since he was a freshman. He has played with many great teams but has always came short when it came winning the National Championship. With possibly his best team since he was a freshman Neitzal will look for a great season to push him up in the NBA Draft. While Tommy Izzo looks for redemption.

    2007-2008 Preview

Key Players: Drew Neitzal, Ramar Morgan, Goran Suton

    Preseason Rankings
    Media Poll: 4
    Coaches Poll: 4
My Prediction: After a long season Michigan State will do what they do every year, get on a drought during the NCAA Tournament. They will lose in the Elight Eight.

    Team Ratings
    Overall: 86
    Offense: 88
    Defense: 81
    Shooting: 86

Cougars win the tip and come off hot scoring the first two baskets. Michigan State didn't want any of that going on a run and finishing the half 23 to 39 Spartans. Drew Neitzal with 12 points leds both teams in scoring. Second half was just as bad. The Spartans caught on fire and started hitting there threes and it was all over.

          Michigan State vs. VMI

VMI wins the tip and are just fire sinking threes like they want a to win agaisnt a top rank team. Tom Izzo not happy calls a time out to stop all that but nothing can stop what VMI was doing after ten minutes they are up 24 to 18. But Just when you think they have a chance Neitzal gets in the action with 14 pts in a 43 to 42 Michigan State half. VMI just kept hitting the threes till the game was over but in a thriller 87 to 83 Michigan State.

" Its is scary when the game is this close you know. I didn't want to lose this game it would look really bad for us. We caught on fire in the second half Drew was passing great and Raymar was finishing. Overall we can learn from this game."

                Michigan State @ Wofford

MSU wins the tip for the first time this year but thats not stopping Wofford knocking down three straight threes to start the game. But all Izzo had to do was put Travis Walton on the hot player and that was the end of that. At the half the score is 46 to 37 Michigan State. Neitzal with 5 ast. In the second half Tom Izzo took out his starters after looking sluggish and the bench went on a run and ending the game 94 to 65 Michigan State.

                  4Michigan St. vs. 8UCLA

Early on in the game you can tell that this game was going to be low scoring when no one was able to make a basket. UCLA getting shut down on defense thanks to Izzo's 2-3 defense. At the half a low scoring game 26 to 24 MSU. Well good defense was something MSU lost in the second half when UCLA started getting open shots and draining them. But Raymar Morgan and the Spartans kept fighting ending the game 68 to 62 Michigan State.
