    Damn Yankees

This is a franchise I did to prove how the Yankees buy all the good players and are bad for baseball (Yes, I am biased, because I hate them). I decided to do a franchise, trading away every player on the team except one. I chose Soriano as the player to keep. After trading the entire active roster, here is my team.

    Rotation:
    Pedro Martinez
    Odalis Perez
    A.J. Burnett
    Kevin Millwood
    C.C. Sabathia

    Long Relief:
    Joe Kennedy'
    Rick Ankiel

    Middle Relief:
    Oliver Perez
    B.J. Ryan

    Setup: Byung-Hyun Kim

    Closer: Francisco Rodriguez

    Position Players:

C/OF- Eli Marrero (he can catch, good against righties)
C- Brad Ausmus (good defense, good against lefties)
    1B- Mike Sweeney
1B- Jose Leon (decent against lefties)
    2B- Alfonso Soriano
    SS- Jose Hernandez
    SS- Chris Woodward (dominates righties)
    SS- Tony Womack (pinch runner)
    3B- Edgardo Alfonzo
    LF- Pat Burrell
    LF- Carl Crawford (pinch runner/fielder)
    LF- Jason Tyner (pinch runner/fielder)
    CF- Mark Kotsay
    CF- Johnny Damon

Yup, I got this team just from making semi-fair trades with the regular Yankee players. I will update on their total dominance later.

    Re: Damn Yankees

In their first season, the Yankees went 118-42 in the regular season and 11-1 in the playoffs, defeating the Giants to win the World Series. In the offseason, they drafted and signed rookies Byung-Hyun Boone and Chad Chen, only because of their names. Every player was resigned with the exception of Jose Leon, who was the DH against lefties. He was replaced by free agent Scott Speizio. I will update later with results from the second season. (This is sad, isn't it?)

The Yankees have a better team than this one now. I like the pitching staff, but outside of Sweeney, Burrell, and Soriano, that team sucks.

For a Yankees fan, I feel flattered.
" I look at him and it's getting to the point where it's just scaring me. He looks younger but he doesn't carry himself in a younger manner. He's impressive, and I'm glad we drafted him. "

It proves that with a budget as big as theirs, they should win the world series every year.
