Back-to-Back scoring titles, 2007 NCAA Champions, named to the Spartans Hall of Fame. I had done it all. I had the time of my life and now it's over. But, it is just beginning. I was phoned earlier yesterday by my dad, that I was invited to attend this years NHL Entry Draft in Ottawa. I thought wow! I made it, 12 years ago I was dreaming of this moment, now it is life.

This Was it...Draft Day. I awoke early, around 5:30, and I did not sleep well. The excitement I was feeling was christmas morning for a 7 year old times 10. I had many Questions though. Will I get Drafted? Early? Late? By Who? With Who?
I picked up a draft preview magazine at a local 7-11 on my way to the rink. I found my name, 2nd round 41 overall by the Vancouver Canucks.
I found my parents at the rink, nice seats. I waited out and waited. Vancouvers second round pick was up..."With the 41st overall pick the Vancouver Canucks select...Yann Sauve"
My heart sank, I heard nothing, felt nothing, as if I had just died. My dad gave me that look, like "everything is alright" when you know it is not right.
An Hour later, Mr. Bettman returned with Dallas' second round pick.
"With the 59th overall pick the Dallas Stars, select...Dylan Spero"
At the time I wasnt paying attention, the only part I heard and understood was my name. I waled over to the stage, trying to remove a giant grin, showing a confident smile. I was happy Here.
