Coach Northcutt... The Rise of The Lil Man (CH2K8)

    April 10th, 2008
Is Sacramento States' Lucky Number 13?
SACRAMENTO, CA--Earlier today Sacramento State AD Terry Wanless announced 25 year old Josh Northcutt as the new head coach of Sacramento State basketball. Josh will take over the after Terry decided not to renew Jerome Jenkins contract last month. Jereome spent 9 season with Sacramento (8 as head coach) going 80-147 with his best record being 15-15 in the 05-06.
Josh is a known for being a defensive minded & well displaned coach; which he is proud of.
"Like the old saying goes defense wins championships," Josh stated at his press confrence."I grew up in a military family jus outside Cincinnati so dumb mistakes and signs of weakness were not accepted. My favorite coach and coach I try to coach like is Mr. Bob Huggins." When asked if he feels unlucky being coach number 13 Josh responded with, "I wore number 13 in college what that tell you?" I then ran off the past information on Sacramento State. Stating Hornets fans havent had much to chear for the last few decades. The winningest coach in school history is Jack Heron but he only went 190-186 and that the last winning record was over 20 years ago. "Well that was the past and the future is now. You can trust me on this Hornets fans! I promise you there will not be a better defense in the Big Sky than us & we will win a Big Sky Title!"

      NEW COACH SAME RESULT
Manhattan,KS-- The new era leads off where the old one left off with Sacramento State being destroyed 101-51 at Kansas State.
Outside the locker room you could hear starting Senior PF Justin Williams screaming, "I am absoultly disappointed in our play today. It seemed like no of us showed up to defend. We will never let this happen again! 50 points deficit will never be seen with our team on the bottom." Justin had a solid game putting up 6 pts and 6 reb which was sadly enough to be 3rd with pts. The Hornets leading scorer was red shirt Junior Loren Leath with 17 points.
Freshman Vinnie McGhee had a solid first game with 8 pts & 7 ast; but was out shined by the opposing 2 freshman Bill Walker & Michael Beasley. Walker led the way with 21 pts in only 15 minutes & Beasley added a double double of 13-10.
When coach Northcutt was asked about the 2 Freshman he responded with, "We now know why they were considered top recruits in this years class. I knew Bill was that good since I lived in Cincinnati; but you dont fully realize how good Beasley is till you see him. They both are going to be stars this year & have the potential to lead K-State to Big 12 title."
Sacremento States next game Nov 14th vs South Utah.
