This will be the home of the 2003 Kansas City Royals. This year, Manager Lefty Ludensky has instilled the word "believe" in all of his players in hopes that it will bring team chemistry and confidence among his ballclub.

"Royals, Hernandez win opener"
Kansas City kicked off their season with a 4-3 win over the Chicago White Sox. Hernandez went 7 strong innings, allowing 3 hits and 1 earned run. Kris Wilson then came in from the Royals Bullpen and shut the door in the 8th inning. Mike MacDougal, KC's new closer then came on in the 9th inning with a three run lead. It quickly became a one run lead as Magglio Ordonez took him out of the park just over the right center field wall. After giving up the homer, MacDougal settled down and earned his 1st save of the season.

Beltran also went 4-3 with one RBI
For the ChiSox, Konerko went 3-2 and Magglio went 4-2 with the pnly homerun of the game.

Royals face the White Sox again at KC, the 2nd game of a 3 game series.
