    Thriller in FLA

    Game 1

The Florida Marlins opened up the season at home against the Phillies. Nobody knew that this game would end up being a 20-inning thriller, and a pitching duel at he same time. There were a combined 3 hits in the first 8 inning of the game. Both teams had oppurtunities to score, but didn't convert.

The rookie, Marlon Byrd, stepped to the dish with the bases loaded and 2 outs, and he struck out.

In the final 20th inning, Mike Lieberthal batted in Patt Burrell, and the Phillies win this long game, 1-0.
