    STROS WIN SEASON OPENER IN A SLUGFEST

    In a game that featured a combined 38 hits(20 for the Rockies, 18 for the Astros) and 15 combined runs(8-7 for the Astros) In what seemed like a never ending, physically and mentally draining night for everyone at the ballpark, both teams are still ready for tomorrow night's game two.

    "We played excellent," said manager Andrew Martin, "There were a few problems but we over came them, that's what's important."

    Change of Fortunes as Astros lose in Slugfest

    Larry Walker had as many RBI's by himself as the Houston Astros had as a combined team effort as the Rockies took this one by a score of 14-6.

    "Larry had one heck of a game," said manager Andrew Martin. "There's not a whole lot you can do when a guy starts swinging the bat like he did today except pitch to him and pray."

    With the win the Rockies tie the three game series up at one game a piece. Game three will go tomorrow at Minute Maid Park.
