Best Way To Do A Dynasty

I am looking to start a very successful dynasty but I had some questions.

Should I post it in the new way with like the blog and etc or do it the old way on the threads in the football dynasty forum?

What is your hint to make you play it longer?

Does Anyone have a good layout?

    Tips?

    What Team Should I Use?

    All help appreciated!

It depends on what angle you want to tell it from, if it is a specific person then a thing like a blog with a storyline would probably be better and if it is just from a broader view then you can do it like a newspaper with a write up/box score.
What is your hint to make you play it longer?
I usually play mine as realistic as possible if I'm sharing it and then have some extra ones on the side just so that I don't get too familiar with the same look and feel of that particular dynasty.

If you mean like in a psd I could make you one with a header at the top (kind of like bhurst's match reports) but you would need to be specific on what you need. If you mean with text then you can just check out some of the bigger threads and take some idea f
    Tips?
Don't worry if nobody follows at first, give it time and if you have to start over don't worry about it and just try to do the best you can.
    What Team Should I Use?
Preferably a team you like or a team that needs to be rebuilt. If you have a storyline then the team doesn't matter as much because your actions will make the team better/worse.

I think you have to pick a game you enjoy and be determined to stick with it. I never try to get followers. I just try to report a game I think I would enjoy reporting on. If no one follows it I'll still post because I enjoy the game.

I think you should try to have a visual aspect of your dynasty because that's always going to be more appealing to look at. It doesn't mean you have to publish a video or a bunch of pictures. Just one picture with a story can work wonders. (I should note there are some very good dynasties that are text only which are very good reads. I'm just speaking in general terms).

I'd also recommend picking a sport with a shorter season. It's very difficult to do a baseball season because it's so long. You might want to try football with its short season as your first dynasty.

People on this sight seem to follow stories that are more player based (ie. Be A Pro modes) rather than team stories so you might want to think about that as well.

The other piece of advice is to stick with it. There's nothing worse that seeing someone start a dynasty and then six posts later quit. Don't expect every story to garner a response from people. Just because they don't comment doesn't mean they are not following. The longer the dynasty lasts the more people will look at it. I rarely look at dynasties that have less than 500 views because there's so many dynasties that come and go.

Before positing your first dynasty, I would recommend creating five-to-eight stories. If after you create the five-to-eight stories you're still interested in the game and doing more stories then starting posting them. I think a lot of people create a dynasty, write one or two stories, get upset people aren't commenting/following or bored with the dynasty and quit.

          I hope that helps.

Make 20 new accounts and act like people are interested so that maybe some other people join in? It is kind of difficult to do a soccer one if you don't have in game pics/video because for the most part scoring is few and far between so you pretty much have to sit there pausing the game everytime something like a shot or foul happens and write it down so you can try and add some beef to your write ups. I'm thinking about doing one when FIFA 11 comes out and I think I am just going to do it like Newcastle United does their game reports, write down the minute something happens and put a description of what happened.

29th - Gutierrez bolts down the right hand side and sends a cross to the near post where Carroll heads it in (NEW 1 MAN U 0)
And then at the end of it just say something about how well such and such did and maybe talk about who's up next game or something.

I don't know that there is one best way to do a dynasty. Just do what YOU want to do, and everything else will fall into place.
The main thing is to have fun with it, and if you do, you'll be more successful.

Something I like to do is go to different sports sites like, ESPN, CBS, Yahoo, SI and see how they report team news and other aspects of a season.

I always get some good ideas from these sites.

I'd suggest starting with an unsuccessful dynasty to lower expectations for your future projects. Just don't start like 4 dynasties at once and quit them all, because then no one will read anything you ever do. (Not like they do now...) *rimshot*
