Some help deciding on my first dynasty?

Hi all,

I've been a long-time follower of the dynasties here on OS. I decided to make an account today so I could post one of my own. The trouble I've found myself in, I want to start on a good note, but don't know where to start dynasty-wise.


Sports games I own:

- Madden 12 [Either: Rebuilding a team, Creating a team, or Bears]

- NCAA 12 [Bring my local FCS school to FBS, Rebuild current school, TENN, or Create New school.]

- MLB '11 [Cubs, or open to other ideas.]

- NBA Live 10 [Bulls, or open to other ideas.]

- College Hoops 2k8 [Tennessee, Illinois, Rebuild, or Create new school]

Those are my main ones. I also own NCAA 07 Baseball, NHL 10, and NASCAR 06.


I have considered the idea of making or using a college, and playing all sports with them; also have considered the same thing but with real team's cities or make teams for a city without teams.

So If you could help, I'd appreciate it. Any ideas welcomed.

Here is my list of ideas you can do (some aren't on your list)

Madden 12
Superstar: If you're a good writre, Superstar is where it's at. Write about what happens to your character, create your own storylines, ec.

Franchise: I'd go with either the Broncos (Tebowmania's runnin' wild), Bears (since you want to), Bills, or create your own team (if you want followers, do CAPs)


NCAA 12
Road to Glory: Same as Superstar, but it's your whole senior year. Create your dream senior year.

Dynasty: Go with some nobody school and build them into a national powerhouse. That's all I gotta say.


MLB 11
Can't help you out much here. I don't play baseball games. But do Cubs if you want to.


NBA Live 10
First off. download some updated rosters.

Franchise/Association/Whatever: Go with the Cavs


CH 2k8
DL rosters

Dynasty: I may be biased here, but if you want to build a team into a powerhouse, go with Binghamton. Great school with a talented roster (at least in NCAA Basketball 10).

Based off your list, I've come up with my "List of Considerations"


- QB going from NCAA to NFL [M12/NCAA12]
- HB going from NCAA to NFL [M12/NCAA12]
- Denver Broncos [Madden 12]
- Created team with CAPs [Madden 12]
- MTSU Blue Raiders [NCAAF 12]
- Cleveland Cavaliers [NBA Live 10]
- Coaching Legacy, Starting at Binghampton [CH2K8]
- Chattanooga Mocs [CH2K8]


I plan on making a Miami Marlins dynasty when MLB 12 comes out, so I ruled out an MLB '11 one. I'm liking my little list, so any input on which you like would be great.

Binghamton, not Binghampton. Just letting ya know lol.

If I had to choose between ANY of those choices, I'd go with the MTSU NCAA 12 dynasty. May take awhile to make it big, but that's the fun of it. Hoorah

First of all write a list of all the ones you have thought of.
Now write out what you want out of it.
Followers? Lots of views? Enjoyment?

Personally I started two dynasties on OS, and both flopped because one of them I did because I wanted followers and didn't do a dynasty I would enjoy. The second one flopped because my father passed away and I sank away in depression drinking and not playing NCAA.

My third, my current, is going strong because I love my dynasty. If you enjoy what you're doing, it will show in your posts. Whether it's Madden (which I do not own), NCAA, or NFL 2K, if you post a football dynasty that is remotely well written and show some passion you will develop a solid following.

Can't say I follow basketball dynasties really. I check them out for ideas, to admire the presentation, but I am not passionate about basketball so I do not care enough to bookmark and follow.

Personally, of your choices, I like the single superstar RTG one (HB from NCAA to NFL is what I am assuming is RTG). The football dynasty thread has several good ones going right now, and to stand out a single superstar RTG with first person stuff would be solid.

Thank you so much for your input. It really made me think about if I would enjoy all of these. I think I'm going to go "Slider Hunting," because I really shouldn't start planning a dynasty if I don't have a good set for all the games.

I'm really starting to narrow it down because of you, so thank you.
