The Ron Jeremy (Stan Van Gundy) Chronicles

The Miami Heat enter this season with renewed hope and optimism. With the drafting of Dwayne Wade, signing of Lamar Odom, and emergence of Caron Butler the future looks bright. The biggest glaring problem is the lack of a Center, the city of Miami hasnt had a legitimate healthy center since Ruth Riley got snapped up by Detroit in the WNBA dispersal draft.

Key Additions- Lamar Odom, Dwayne Wade, Udonis Haslem, and Rafer Alston

Key Losses- Alonzo Mourning, Travis Best, and Laphonso Ellis

Starting Line up Rest of Roster Revserves
pg- Dwayne Wade Rafer Alston John Wallace
sg- Eddie Jones Bimbo Coles Cherokee Parks
sf- Caron Butler Udonis Haslem Loren Woods
    pf- Lamar Odom Malik Allen
    c- Brian Grant Jerome Beasley
    6th- Rasual Butler Samaki Walker

    Strengths
    Good defensively, young upcoming

    Weakness
Lack of a center, lack of cap, Lamar Odoms off-court habbits, and theres a glut of bodies and stiffs at the 4 and 5 including journey men, rookies, and questionable signings.

    Needs
A legitimate center or big man and instant offense off the bench

    Rumors
The Miami Heat might welcome back Laphonso Ellis if depth becomes a problem
Lamar Odom given his prior problems with illicit drugs might be put on a short leash by head coach "Hedgehog" Stan Van Gundy
Theres rumors abounding about the Miami Heat acquiring a true big man/center, the most mentioned names are Dikembe Mutombo, Christian Laettner, or even Erick Dampier. The main piece in this trade for the Heat will probably be Brian Grant

    Depth Chart
pg- Dwayne Wade/Rafer Alston/ Bimbo Coles
    sg- Eddie Jones/Rasual Butler
    sf- Caron Butler/Rasual Butler
pf- Lamar Odom/ Udonis Haslem/ Malik Allen/ Jerome Beasley
    c- Brian Grant/ Cherokee parks/ Samaki Walker/ Udonis Haslem

Projected finish 5th in the atlantic division

I'll probably play the 1st game tomorrow or later tonight
As Shaquille O'Neal left the Suns practice court, he yelled out, "Alvin's the coach. We must be the Clippers. And I must be Olowokandi. Nooooo!"

    Game 1
    Miami Heat @ Philadelphia 76ers
    90 79
This was a pretty non-descript game everyone shot poorly for a combined 45%. The Heat fell in love with the 3 but the 3 didnt love them back as they went 4-19. The 6ers were down as many as 24 points but came back with a late run in the 3rd and 4th but the Heat put it away when Caron Butler hit a runner.

    Player Of The Game
Brian Grant with 14 points 15 boards (10 offensive) and 3 assists

    Biggest Disapointment
Caron Butler although he had 20 points 5 boards and 3 assists he only shot 9-26 from the floor for about 34% but on the plus he did lock down Glenn "I stole Antoine Carr's nickname" Robinson and held him to 12 points on 4-14 shooting

    Biggest Concern
Lack of bench scoring my entire bench combined for a total of 8 points 4 of which were scored by Rasual Butler and inside defense 70 of the 6ers 79 points were scored in the paint

    Rookie Watch
Dwyane Wade- 13 points 2 boards 6 assists 4 steals in 30 minutes
Udonis Haslem- 2 points 5 rebounds 2 assists 1 block in 10 minutes

    Heat News
The Miami Heat made a small trade with the 76ers acquiring rookie G/F Kyle Korver for 8 veteran PF John Wallace. Head coach Stan Van Gundy said this trade was made to " Increase depth of the 2 and 3 and to give our team alittle more scoring off the bench". To make room for Korver the Heat put rookie Jerome Beasley on Injured Reserve with Tendenitis in his right Knee.
As Shaquille O'Neal left the Suns practice court, he yelled out, "Alvin's the coach. We must be the Clippers. And I must be Olowokandi. Nooooo!"

Almost everythign went the Heats way in this 1 and never trailed Lamar Odom hit a 3 to start things off and the Heat never looked back. Odom and Caron lead the way with 22 and 23 points respectively and even though the Heat lost rookie Dwyane Wade late in the 2nd quarter with a sprained right wrist Rafer Alston stepped up came threw with 11 points 3 boards and 6 dimes. In his game after the 6ers trade Kyle Korver got 12 points 4 boards 2 assists on 4-8 shooting including 3-5 from behind the arc.

          Player Of The Game

          Disapoint Of The Game
Free Throw shooting we were 3-10 from the line and we missed way too many bunnies and put backs

          Concern Of The Game
We need to hit the glass harder the celtics out boarded us on the defensive end by 10

          Rookie Watch
Dwyane Wade- 4 pts 1 board 7 assists 2 steals and 1 block in 19 minutes and he left with a sprained wrist
Udonis Haslem- 2 pts 0 boards 0 assists 1 steal 0 blocks in 4 minutes

                Game 3
                Miami Heat vs Detroit Pistons
                85 117
Everything that went right against Boston turned to crap against Detroit we were out played out classed and totally out everythinged from whistle to whistle. Detroit had 3 people with double digit rebounds and 3 others with 6+ they had 6 people score in double figures and Darko had 9 and everyone on their team scored atleast 6 points.

                Player Of The Game
Chauncy Billups 26 points 3 boards 14 assists 1 block in 21 min

                Disapointment Of The Game
Everything about this game disapointed me our free throw shooting sucked our defense sucked and we couldnt do diddly-poo offensively and for gods sake WE GAVE UP 117 POINTS TO DETROIT AND LOST BY LIKE 32

                Concern Of The Game
Foul shooting AGAIN we couldnt hit 1 at all we finished 3-11, rebounding Detroit out boarded us 61-38 and by 21 on the defensive glass, and our bench got outscored 51-11

Seems like your team needs to work on the boards and the free throws.. The rebounding in the Detroit game was ridculous.. You should probably trade or sign a big man..

Yea i've never EVER lost that badly before. Who should i trade for? If i do trade for someone Brian Grant will definitley be a center piece. I'd love to clear out some of my PFs in the trade also
As Shaquille O'Neal left the Suns practice court, he yelled out, "Alvin's the coach. We must be the Clippers. And I must be Olowokandi. Nooooo!"
