Kangaroos survive a Texas sized scare at home.
Kansas City, MO(AP) Despite 33 points from Clint Long the Kangaroos managed to just squeak out a four point victory tonight aganist Texas Pan American.
"Once our three point game went south, so did the game," said Kangaroos head coach Laurence Taylor.
and it was true, the Kangaroos had a tweleve point advantage with just over three and a half minutes to play in regulation, that lead was cut down to one with 5.9 seconds remaining. However guard Antwan Walters put the game almost out of reach with two free throws to make it 56-53 in favour of the home Kangaroos.
The ball was then thrown out of bounds on the inbounds with out anybody touching it so still 5.9 on the clock with Kansas City imbounding, center Alvin Smith was fouled and hit one out of the one and one bonus to clinch the game at 57-53.
The Kangaroos next game will be tomorrow afternoon down in Missouri to take on Southeastern Missiouri State who is currently 1-2 on the season.

Kangaroos come from behind to beat Indians
The Missiouri Kansas City Kangaroos were down until about 6 minutes remained in regulation and came storming back to take the ten point victory tonight aganist inter state rival South Eastern Missouri State.
"It's important to beat your rivals," Commented Kangaroos head coach Laurence Taylor following the victory, "Bragging right are good too, for your school, and if you've got buddies who like the other team you can rub it in their faces for a whole 'nother year."
SE MO led by three at the half time buzzer 30-27, and lead most of the way in the second half as well, barring the big run at the end of the game, they played pretty solid on both sides of the ball.
"They shut down our three point game tonight," Laurence Taylor said. "We never did end up getting it going tonight."
But the important thing is that they got the W on the road, their first road victory of the year in their first real home game unless you count the tournament game against the university of Minnesota in Syracuse at the beginning of the season.
Top performer on the night has to go to center Alvin Smith who had another double double on the evening with eighteen points to go along with tweleve boards.
With the victory the Kangaroos improve to 4-1 on the season and with the loss the Indians fall to 1-3 on the year.
The Kangaroos next game will be tomorrow night back at home in Kansas City where they will take on currently undefeated Denver who sits with a record of 5-0 on the season.

Another Undefeated falls as Kangaroos win again
Kansas City, MO(AP) The Denver Pioneers came in 5-0 on the year and were looking to add another to their win column. But they ran into the three point tandem buzzsaw that is the Kangaroos starting backcourt of Edmund Coles and Clint Long. It was a fiarly close game in the first half with the pioneers only being down by three at halftime. But Kansas City really opened it up in the second half, stretching their lead to as many as sixteen at one point. The pioneers made a slight come back however and got it down to as few as four. However the Kangaroos were just too much on this night as they pick up victory number five on the season by a score of 63-53.
Top performers on the night for the Kangaroos were definately guards Clint Long and Edmund Coles who had a combined twenty-six points on the evening.
The top rebounder for Kansas City was Moses Richardson who had sixteen big boards including some key defensive ones to seal the deal for his team.
With the victory the Kangaroos improve to 5-1 on the season and with the loss the pioneers fall to that same 5-1 mark.
The Kangaroos next game will be tomorrow night, December 13th, on hte road against Monmouth.

Injury Bug Bites freshamn big man Brown
Freshman center will be out of action four the next five days with a bruised patella.
"This is going to limit us in the five spot now that he's gone down with this injury, I hope we can manage" a very concerned Laurence Taylor commented at the media conference announcing the injury.
Brown suffered the injury late in the second half of Friday nights ten point victory over Denver.
The injury will keep Brown out of action in the Monmouth game and possibly the SW Mizzou game.Comment
