    My Yankees MVP 2004 Franchise

I'm playing on pro, but I'll switch it up to all star when it gets to easy.

    Lineup:
    Lofton
    Jeter
    Giambi
    Arod
    Sheffield
    Williams
    Matsui
    Posada
    Wilson

    Rotation:
    Mussina
    Brown
    Vazquez
    Contreras
    Leiber

Game 1 vs. Tampa Bay- Yankees struggled in this one, striking out 15 times, getting only 4 hits and losing 5-0

Game 2 vs. Tampa Bay- Yankees struggle offensively again, but Kevin Brown throws a complete game 5 hit shutout and the Yankees win 3-0

Game 3 vs. Chicago Vazquez is rocked in his Yankees debut giving up 3 homeruns. Arod and Sheffield both hit their first Yankee homeruns, but it isn't enough as the Yankees lose 14-8

Game 4 vs. Chicago This one was tied at zero through 7, but in the 8th Ordonez hit a 2 run triple, and the Yankees couldn't rally as they lost 2-0

Game 5 vs. Chicago The Yankees bats came out red hot. Giambi had an rbi single and Arod hit a 2 run homer in the first to give the Yankees a 3-0. The bats would quiet though, and by the 6th inning it was still 3-0 Yankees. Tom Gordon would relieve Leiber and give up a solo homerun to make it 3-1. He then gave up a 2 run homer in the 8th to Frank Thomas to tie the game. Rivera pitched a scoreless 9th, but the Yankees couldn't score. Rivera then struck out the side in the 10th. Lofton led off the 10th with a double. Derek Jeter than grounded out, advancing Lofton to 3rd. Giambi fouled out for out number 2, setting the stage for A-Rod's first big moment as a Yankee. Here's John Sterling with the call:

"Here's the 1-2 pitch,Arod hits a fly ball, deep left center field, It is high, it is far.....SEE YA! Alex Rodriguez a 2 run homerun in the bottom of the 10th inning and THEEEEE YANKEEEES WIN BAHAHAHAH YANKEES WIN!!!!"

So after 5 games we are 2-3. Arod is leading the team in average, homeruns, and rbi's (.400+ 3 8)

Up next we have one more vs. the White Sox with Mussina facing off against Loazia. We then head to Tampa Bay, followed by our first meeting with Boston.

    Game 6 Vs. Chicago

Close game throughout, and the White Sox had a 3-2 lead heading to the bottom of the 9th. Giambi led off with a double, and was advanced to 3rd on an Arod Ground out. Sheffield then hit a fairly deep fly ball, Giambi tagged but was just thrown at at home to end the game

    Game 7 at Tampa Bay
A matchup of Zambrano and Brown, both pitchers who threw shutouts in the last series between these teams. It started off as a good duel, but neither pitcher went longer than 6 innings, despite being effective. The Yankees bullpen struggled, and allowed Tampa to take a 7-4 lead heading to the 9th. The Yankees made it interesting with homeruns by Arod and Williams, but we ended up losing 7-6.

Record: 2-5 Last in the AL East 3 games out of first

Game 9 and 10 at Tampa Bay we won 9-1 and then 6-1 thanks to big offensive performances right out of the gate, and great pitching from Contreras (complete game) and Leiber.

Yankees are now 4-6 heading into a 4 game series against the hated Red Sox at Fenway. The first game will be Mike Mussina vs. Pedro Martinez
