The Cincinnati Reds Kick off the 2004 Season at Home agianst Divsion Rivals the Chicago Cubs.

For the Reds it will be Paul Wilson on the mound agianst the Cubs Ace Kerry Wood.

Right off the start both pictures were unhittable with not allowing any hits in the first 3 innings of

play. But in the 4th, Sean Casey found a hole through the defense and hit a bullet right past Alex

Gonzalez for a single. Next up Brandon Larson hit a blooper into center field fro a single and

advancing Sean Casey to 3rd. Jason Larue hit a rocket into the outfield for a double scoreing Both

Casey and Larson. For the next couple of innings both Ace`s continue to shine but in the 7th Adam

Dunn`s single scored Barry Larkin. At this point the Reds are beating the Cubs 3-0. With the tired

Wilson on the mound in the 9th, Don Gullet decides to put in the closer Danny Graves. Graves came

out cold and with his first pitch gave up a double to Moises Alou. Then Aramais Ramirez`s single

finnaly put the Cubs on the board, but Danny Graves struck out the nest 2 batters and the game

ended on a fly ball to left.

The Reds go on to win 3-1 WP:Wislon LP:Wood
