On June 15th 2001 the lifes of 5 men changed forever, one of the 5 players was released and is now fighting to rejoin a major league organization, 3 are still with the Organization that drafted them (Mets) and yet the final player hopes to enjoy a breakout 2004 with the Tampa Bay Devil Rays.
The story begins on December 15th 2003, when the New York Mets announce they have waived former 11th round pick Dominic Oulette, the Mets were not done moving there draft picks as former 7th round Nick Palmer was traded to Tampa Bay for a Player to be named later.
The other three picks of importance were Fransisco Rodriguez, Matt Kleapas, and Freddy Jones.

June 15th 2001, the five players we are following are drafted in this order...
3rd Round 3B Matt Kleapas
4th Round RP Fransisco Rodriguez
6th round OF Freddy Jones
7th round C/1B Nick Palmer
11th Round SP Dominic Oulette
By July 15th all five had signed and been assigned to there 2002 campaign clubs...
Kleapas, Rodriguez, and the hometown boy Freddy Jones were assigned to the Brooklyn Cyclones (SSA).
The other players were assigned to the rookie league Kingsport Mets.
Before the Short Season Ended Oulette earned a promotion to the Cyclones, however it was short lived as he blew his elbow out in his first start.

Matt Kleapas was the most likely to excel and that showed early, he dominated the SSA and was promoted to the Capital City (A) team, were he struggled at first but got onto solid ground and took off, by 2003 he was moving again this time to High-A St. Lucie.
