Holiday Spirits - Bobcats In December [ESPN 2K5]

After their first month in the league, the Bobcats hold a 4-8 record, which is not TERRIBLE, considering that they aren't the worst team in the league like they were projected to be. This team is playing great team ball, showing flashes of having a good foundatoin to build on defense and transition offense. This team has been closing out games, or closing gaps to small leads. Still though, the Charlotte faithful has been somewhat satisfied with their squad's start.

Coach and GM Bernie Bickerstaff says the he too is impressed, but wants this team to keep improving.

Emeka Okafor leads the team in scoring with 12 ppg, rebounds with about 8, and Brevin Knight leads thie team in assist, often off the bench with 5 a game. Gerald Wallace has been a key, and the Bobcats' most consisten player on the team.

    Brief November Recap

    Atlantic Division

New York leads the way so far, ahead of the pack of the division at 8-5. Isaiah Thomas' additions have looked to pay off so far for this club, and you can fairly say that the "buzz" is back in the most famous basketball arena, Madison Square Garden. The Sixers (6-7)are playing below average basketball as of now, but mainly because everyone is still gettiing used to their new roles. With a new head coach, and AI moving back to point, it seems like enough time has passed for Philly to kick it up and start a run. The Nets (5-9) have struggled to find offensive rhythm with a disgruntled Jason Kidd. The Raptors also have a revamped lineup, and have struggled to a 5-11 record. And Boston brings up the rear in an already below average division at 4-9.

        Central Division

The Detroit Pistons have seemed to continue their run into this season, starting 12-2. They look like the early season favorites to come on top in the East.Milwaukee has been playing great ball at 9-3. They are currently the highest scoring team in the league, and have the number scorer in Michael Redd with 23.1 points a contest. Redd has solidified himself as a bonafied scorer in this league, finally.Indiana is 3rd at 10-4 in this strong division, and word is that they are happy with the ball they are playing right now. Jermaine O'Neal continues to be the staple for that team.LeBron has lead his team to a somewhat positive start for his ball club. They are 8-6, and believe that they will improve with time. LeBron is the obvious draw for this team, but Luke Jackson, rookie out of Oregon, has been a good swingman for this team as well, making a potent backcourt of LeBron James, Eric Snow and Luke Jackson.Nothing is going right for the Bulls right now. Not only are they 1-10, at the bottom of the division, but they're best player is unhappy, and wanting out of Chicago. Hopefully, for the sake of everyone in that organization, they can turn things around.

            Southeast Division

Atlanta? Yeah, it looks like they MIGHT not be the Eastern Conference doormat any longer. They are number 1 in the Southeast Division, but they still aren't playing great ball, yet they are .500, at 7-7.The Wizards have an improved team once again, but have only been able to put together a 5-7 record, which may not get it down in the improved Eastern Conference. Gilbert Arenas is 2nd in the league in assist, so that is their only bright spot.Everyone in the league was interested to see how Orlando would do this year, ridding themselves of the best scorer in the league, and gaining two good backcourt players in Francis and Mobley. This is another situation where the team won't do well to start, due to the abundance of new faces. Yet THEY are not down on their 5-8 start.Miami was expected to be the best team in the East this year, but Shaq has not been able to dominate for some reason, and now he's hurt. They started this way last year, so hopefully they can turn things around from their 6-10 start. The expansion Bobcats are satisfied. Even at being at 4-8, nobody is upset, and the team is doing well. They have a lot of potential, and a good foundation to start, and management is positive. Should be a fun year in Charlotte.

                Southwest Division
The Mavericks lead the way (10-6) in the Southwest Division with their revamped roster, and unhappy Jason Terry who was recently put on the trading block. Word is that Devin Harris has been a nice addition off of the bench, and they do not seem to miss Steve Nash too much. The newest members of the Western Conference look to be fitting in alright so far. at 8-5 they are not a pushover team from the East that they were supposed to be. Baron Davis is doing his dirty with the lack of point guards in the West. Some people have the Spurs as Championship contenders once again, with an improved lineup as a whole, but with the same players. They have come out of the gate decent, but still want to pick it up from their 9-6 start. Houston (9-7) was another team that is a favorite to win the West this season with the 1-2 punch of Yao and Mac. Everyone is still finding their roles, but Mac is fitting in nicely, averaging 22.9 points per game so far this season, a compliment to Yao's inside game. Even in this difficult division, the Grizzlies are wanting to do better from their 8-7 start. It will be tough for them to have a chance to get into the playoffs this season when you look at how competitive this division is.

                    Northwest Division

With the addition of Kenyon Martin, the Nuggets are playing good ball up in the mountains, leading their division 9-5.Minnesota is playing well with their 8-5 start, and have as good a chance as anyone to be the number one team in the West at seasons end. They cannot be counted out with the most competitive player in the league, Kevin Garnett.Utah watns to sneak up on people this season with their relatively no thrills, no All-Star lineup. They are 8-7, and Carlos Arroyo is continuing his game from Puerto Rico here in the States.Portland is playing better than expected, since they do not have the star-studded lineup that they normally have. 7-7 is not bad, considering how much they have lost in the last 2 years.Seattle is having a tough time stopping other teams from scoring, which is the reason for their 5-11 start. Their could be some moves on the roster if things don't improve.

                        Pacific Division

The Clippers? Trippers? Yes, this team leads the Pacific division at 10-5. Mike Dunleavy has rejuvanated this club, and they are playing with plenty of enthusiasm so far this year. The Kings bring back a similar lineup once again, but have been lackluster so far at 7-7.The Warriors have not performed well either, even in this garbage conference (so far) and are only 6-7.Everyone wanted to see how this would do with the huge (literally) subtraction of Shaq, and they haven't been to well, Shaq-less. Kobe is doing his thing, but it takes a team effort. They are only 6-9, but expected to go on a mid-season run.Phoenix had plenty of expectations with the addition of Steve Nash, but so far they have disappointed, only 5-9.
