Hawks blow early lead, drop opener in the desert

The new-look Atlanta Hawks looked like a whole new team early on in their season opener at the Phoenix Suns. The Hawks jumped out to a 13-point lead after one quarter, and appeared headed for a convincing victory.

Then they played the next 3 quarters.

That 13-point lead became a 1-point lead at the half, and after 3 quarters a 3-point deficit.

The 4th quarter was a back-and-forth battle that saw several lead changes. But in the end, the Phoenix Suns prevailed over the Hawks, 81-76.

    Antoine Walker - 23 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists
    Jason Collier - 14 points, 7 rebounds
    Tony Delk - 8 points, 4 assists
    Peja Drobnjak - 8 points, 4 rebounds
    Kenny Anderson - 2 points, 6 assists

    Steve Nash - 29 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists
    Shawn Marion - 19 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, 4 steals
    Amare Stoudemire - 18 points, 6 rebounds
    Joe Johnson - 4 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists
    Maciej Lampe - 0 points, 5 rebounds

Following their season opening loss to the Phoenix Suns, the Atlanta Hawks have announced they will entertain offers for small forward Al Harrington. Harrington, who was acquired in the offseason from Indiana, struggled in his Hawks debut, registering only 2 points and 5 rebounds.

        On the Trading Block:

        Al Harrington
