                    Week 1:@Patroits

The Colts opened the 2004 season on the road against the Patroits Thursday Night in a game that many knew would show high powered offenses. But no one expected to see the defense that was put out on the field in tonight's game.

Both teams got the game going early as the Patroits struck first with a TD pass from Brady. But the Colts were quick to answer as Edgerrin James ran the ball in for his first score as both teams went into the second tied 7-7.

When the second quarter started the Patroits were up to there old tricks again as they struck the board again leaving there fans wondering if the Colts were going to be able to keep up. Well the Colts answered that question as Edgerrin James had two rushing TD's and Mike Vanderjagt booted a 50 yard field goal to give the Colts a ten point lead going into the second half.

But the lead didn't last very long as Manning threw his first of two INT's in the third quarter which lead to a TD return by Samuels as the Patriots cut the scroe to three points. But the Colts defensive front held up to there end of the bargin holding the Patriots offense in check for the third quarter as well as most of there final quarter.

The Colts stuck to there guns in the final quarter as they kept the Patroits defense guessing for the most part but the Colts were able to turn any of it into points as the Patroits defense found a way to stand tall inside the 20.

The Colts caught a luck break when there defense held the Patroits in check and gave there offense good field position but again they were unable to punch it in and had to settle for a field goal by Vanderjagt. And that turned out to be just enough as the Colts defnese got a key sack within the final minute of the quarter on Brady to seal the deal and give the colts there first win of the season.

The Colts hooked up with there divion rival the Tennessee Titans this weekend in what most people knew would be a good game between both teams. No one knew that the Titans offense would man handle the Colts the way they did in this game.

Steve Mc Nair was the main weapon for the Titans fight against the Colts as he trew five touchdowns in this game. Of course he had to have good recievers to get those TD's in for him and that's where Bennett & Mason come in each hauling in two TD passes.

The Titans defense held the Colts offense in check causing Manning to throw an INT and holding to only 78 yards passing. The Titans also put the clamps down on Edge who had 108 yards and a TD.

The Colts will be looking forward to there first home game against the Packers.
