    Bethune-Cookman [ESPN CH2k5] Career Legacy

    All-American Difficulty
    20 Minute Halves
    Coach Mode
    "Tweak As We Go" Sliders

Jay Bolden Comes to Daytona Beach, FL
After only a few years of futility, BCC has decided to clean house on the sidelines, and start all over. Their gem was a high school coach out of Raleigh, North Carolina, Jay Bolden, who coached the Middle Creek Mustangs to a State Championship game after only 2 years at the helm. Bolden was allowed to bring staff from his HS as well.
Dante Elias is a decent assistant coach who is mainly brought forth to help scout and attract talent. Also from NC, his cool demeanor bodes well with most young kids he talks to. Chas Coppenwrath, and Pittsburgh native is really just a great teacher and will work well alongside Bolden.
There is a mutual understand that this can't be turned around immediately, but the BCC AD thinks that this is a team that can do it.

        Good luck.

An upset against Georgia isn't out of the question, they're pretty weak this year.

                    Coach Jay Bolden

When I first got here to Bethune-Cookman, there were some things that I had to go ahead and state to the team about my style of play. I basically told them that at times, they'll love me as their coach and they will have fun playing the game. I also told them that other times, it's going to be hard since we're already undersized. Practices will be fun, however, because they need to learn how to have fun playing the game as well as get the job done.

So far, I'm really impressed with how O'Neal Carter runs point guard. He does exactly what I need him to do in my system to flourish as the point guard. He gets to the lane alot, and it looks like he can hit his free throws. I like him.

Michael Williams is another players that intrigues me. He's a funny guy, and we talk to each other like we're best of friends. That's how I want the rest of the team to do. In practice, he cleans the boards, even though he is undersized. I like this kid's game.

We've got a recruit in our backyard, so to speak, that Coach Elias and I want to eat lunch with. He's from Hollywood, FL, and we want to see where his head is. He's already stated that he his a bit of interest in attending our school next year. I'll bring the word when I get done speaking with Tobias.

                        Twin Towers?

So me and Coach Elias just got back from Applebees, and damn, this kid can eat a lot of food. I didn't make him pay for it either. He seemed like a nice kid. Tobias is very articulate, which leads me to believe he has great court sense. His 6'10" 220 frame will make great use in this MEAC, and I really hope we can bring him in. Tobias Gastel is pretty interested, and BCC is second on his list.

                        - - - - - -

We've also been working on a recruit out from Columbus, Ohio, another big kid who would look good on our squad. He visited the other day, and we just got off the phone with him a while ago as well. He's 6'11" 233, and is a great rebounder from the tapes we've seen. Christopher Givens is also interested, and we are the second school on his list.

Just imagine having if we were to get these two big men on our team, how good we'll be next year?

Enough about the future, we've got a game against Maine tomorrow, and we're having our final walkthrough before our game at home.

                            Bethune-Cookman Plays 'Well Enough'

Orlanda,FL - Coach Bolden says he was a little bit worried coming into the game. "I didn't feel that we were ready to bring our game to the court tonight. We have shown flashes of a decent team in practice, but we have a long way to go, even after the win tonight".

Point Guard O'Neal Carter was the most consistent player on the court, and shouldered most of the Wildcat offense in this game. At perfect times, he pushed the tempo where teammates flourished for easy buckets. He also played great on ball defense, grabbing 3 steals of his own.

The Wildcats debuted tonight playing very sharp on defense. Defense was key, but this game was won in the point. The Wildcats were +14 under the basket, and scored more points in transition.

Maine got down early and was never able to recover until late. BCC's defense was very good in this game, which is the reason for the Wildcats' 57-50 win over Maine.
