The Story of Ron Harper (ESPN CH)

I decided to make a coach after my favorite NBA player, former Clipper, Laker, Bull and Cav Ron Harper.

I started a closed Legacy with Harper taking the Job at Dartmout.

    Year 1:
The Mean Green finish the year 11-15 (5-9) and in 5th place in the Ivy League. In the off-season landed 2 3 star C/PF types and a 3 star PG. Even managed to sign one of the big men in the early signing period.

    Year 2:
Opened the saeaon with a difficult out of conference schedule. Finished the year 13-14 but was 9-5 in Ivy League play, one game out of first place. Missed making it to the big dance by one game.

At the end of the year, Harper was offered the UCSB job which was vacated when the UCSB coach went on to coach Washington St.

Currently I am in year 3. UCSB, has some very good big men and has a lot of depth in the front court. But is much thinner in the back court. After taking the job, Harper got a late start in recruiting but did manage to land a couple of 3 star guards.

As I get deeper in to UCSB's season I wil post updates. If there is some interest.

Bk's dynasty stories are back . Glad that you are gonna keep us informed again. I always enjoyed your dynasties.

Good luck with Ron Harper. He was one of my fav players back in the day as well when he was with the cavs. He actually gave mj alot of trouble whenever they used to match up.
If the players from UCSB can get past Harpers studdering problem (which i dont think is as bad anymore) then he might turn out to be pretty successful.

        good luck.

I remember Ron Harper. He used to be one of my favorites on the Bulls. I think I still have his basketball card around my room...

Anyway, I'd be interested in reading BK. Keep us updated.

Alright. Here's a quick heads up on the lineup:

                    Starting Lineup:

PG: J.Villardell, 6’3”, So.: Very quick, excellent passer and ball handler. Average 3 point shooter, not much better midrange jumpshot. Below average on ball defender, but plays passing lanes well.

SG: A.Harris 6’6”, Jr.: Very good midrange game. Above average from 3 pt range. Excellent speed and quickness. Not a very good finisher on the break. Below avg. defender

SF: C.Devine, 6’8”, Jr.: Good Midrange game, average from 3 point range. Big enough to post up most small forwards. Very good rebounder, very good defender, and also can defend the post well. Best all around player on the team.

PF: G.Turner, 6’10”, Sr.: Explosive shot blocker. Very good rebounder, especially on offensive end of the court. Very good post game on offense. Defends the post well.

C: D.Burnstein 7’2”, So: Excellent low post game on offense. Very good low post defender. Good rebounder. Good shot blocker, but not as good as expected given his size.

                    Key Reserves:

Craig Beeler. G, 6’3”, Fr: Lightnening Quick. Average Perimeter game. Good Ballhandler. Average defensively.

D.Fulton, G, 6’3”, Fr: Good shooter, gym rat. Good ballhandler. Not quick, actually not very athletic at all. Poor defensively.

T.Fullmer, C, 7’1” Jr: Very good rebounder and shot blocker. Average defender. Average post game on offense. Can run the floor for big man.

C.Moore, F, 6’9”, Jr: Excellent rebounder on both sides of the floor. Average defender. Not muich offense.

E.Kately, F, 6’7”. Fr: Long athlete. Very good defender. Not much offense, other than the dunk. Fills lane well in transition. Can defend any position on floor.

Nice a Dartmouth dynasty, I'm doing one myself. I finished Season One with a 20-8 record. Finished with the 13th seed, and am getting ready to face Tennessee.

So, did you play your previous games, or did you sim?
