Miami of Florida proved to be too much for the Gators to handle. The defense came up way short of providing a win, allowing 99 points- their most allowed this season. Not only did they allow 99 points as a team, but Hurricane's guard, Robert Hite, torched the backcourt with 42 points on 15 of 23 shooting.

Player of the Game: Robert Hite

Guillermo Diaz helped him on his remarkable performance, with 19 total assists, as well as 12 points. Forward, William Frisby, finished out the night with 14 of his own.

The Gators had cut the deficit to 5 by the mid second half, but a string of Hurricane runs helped seal the upset.

Corey Brewer continued his "thing", scoring 17 Gator points on an 8 of 12 night. Anthony Roberson, who was a victim of "brick-i-tus", managed 25 points and dished out 16 assists, but horrifically shot 9 of 22; including 2 of 11 from beyond the arc.

Matt Walsh, the team's leading scorer, had a solid effort with 26. And David Lee led the rebounding crew with 10. However, he scored just 4 points and only attempted 2 shots.

Florida will play at UCLA on Wednesday, December 8.

              RECRUITING UPDATE

              Commited: SG, Seamus Fellers

Fellers, a 6'3" shooting guard, has verbally commited to the University of Florida. He was a high school senior from Palm Bay, Florida with solid shooting abilites and speed. He will replace Matt Walsh or Anthony Roberson if one of them decides to leave the school early.

              Commited: C, Amien McGrain

Amien McGrain has also commited to Florida. McGrain, a 6'10" center out of Junior College in Clearwater, FL, has good potential. He will be the Gator's go-to guy in the middle with David Lee in his senior year. Amien can shoot and rebound and has good on the court intelligence.

Corey Brewer had a career-day performance in Los Angeles, connecting on 15 of 20 attempted shots. He also had 9 rebounds and 4 assists. "The game was going slowly for me," said Brewer, "It was amazing that I could hit so many shots. The team trusted me with handling the ball and scoring."

Player of the Game: Corey Brewer

Anthony Roberson helped him out with 19 of his own, as well as dishing out a game high, 16 assists. David Lee and Matt Walsh struggled throughout the game, but held their own defensivley.

Lee finished with 14 points and 13 boards, and Walsh with 9 points. Joakim Noah played most of the game at center and finished with 8 and 8.

"Our team really kicked butt out there," a long time Gator fan and Bruin *****, Charles Cruz said. "UCLA showed us that their great in the beginning, but chokes in the end. They suck."

The Bruins did put up a good fight. Leading 40-37 at the begining of the second half, their offense deteriorated and their defense fell apart. Bits of Floridian runs conceivably sealed the deal.

UCLA did have it's bright spots in terms of stats, however. Jordan Farmar and Dijon Thompson both finished with 23 points; Farmar having the better overall performance with 12 assists, while Thompson finished with 8.

Michael Fey had 16 and 10 rebounds, while Cedric Bozeman had 10 and 9.
