Duke opened the basketball season with a game against the Skyhawks of Tennessee-Martin. Duke was favored in this game and they didn't disappoint at half. The first half was close though, with Duke only holding on to a 6 point lead but they broke out in the 2nd half and just killed the Skyhawks. J.J Redick led the Blue Devils with 21 points, 3 assists, and 2 rebounds. Daniel Ewing was in foul trouble the entire game and only had 3 points but Demarcus Nelson picked off the slack from the bench with 15 points, 5 rebounds, and 1 assist. Sheldon Williams finished with 15 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists, and a block. Duke goes on to play Davidson next week.

Damn Ewing, can't do crap in real life anymore.. and now it's rolling over to the video games. Glad to see JJ shooting well for you, though.

This wasn't even a challenge for Duke. Within a few minutes everyone knew this would get ugly fast. Duke shot a great 50% from the field while UNC Greensboro only shot 38% from the field. The Spartans leading scorer only managed 8 points while Duke had 5 players in double figures. Duke goes on to play Michigan State in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge next week.
